Top Customer Reviews
PROS: Fun to fly. Once you get the hang of the steering, you can do all sorts of neat tricks. It's mesmerizing and exciting to watch. The metal body is more sturdy that its plastic counterparts. Definitely the best for its price.
CONS: Rotor blades break very easily. Buy an extra set of blades at the same time so you have them on hand. The blades on ours started hitting each other, so we ordered new parts and took the thing apart, but it doesn't come with instructions on how to put it back together! I couldn't find anything helpful on their website, and the youtube videos were often unclear. After a LOT of trial and error, I think we got it. But it still doesn't seem to fly as high or for as long. If you disassemble yours, take pictures at every step, and hey, post them on the world wide web for the benefit of all mankind!
Also, it flies for 5-8 minutes, but takes 40 minutes to charge. Attention Syma: wouldn't it be great to have a removable battery, so you could buy several of them, switch them out quickly, and keep on flying!?! I'm really on to something there.
One note of caution: I'm told there are loads of couterfeits out there. I've ordered three different models from Amazon and not had a problem.
For more information I recommend checking out syma107.com.
Pros: Setup and durability. It can take a beating and still function with its metal body.
Cons: The only reason I would not give it 5 stars is the speed of forward flight. The charge time could be a little better but what else could you expect from something priced at low as this.
Overall I would recommend this specific model to anyone looking to build the fundamentals of RC aircraft or anyone who just wants to scare your wife's cat. I would buy this product again.
These are very affordable and they simply are hard to break.
In addition, the larger helicopters have to be flown outside and they can easily be blown away by the wind.
With these, you can play with the all day indoors and have some much fun fine tuning your motor and coordination skills.
The only thing I'd recommend is for there to be a way to request a helicopter on Channel B instead of Channel A so that two users can fly at the same time.
The kids love them.
