It starts slow, honestly all the SciAdv VN’s do, but it quickly picks up and has a lot of different endings that are all worth playing and fleshing out. I highly recommend it to anyone who likes VN, mysteries/detective stories, or is looking for an amazing well told story with 1st rate character development. In total with all the endings I got around 60 hours out of it, and was truly sad and empty when it ended. Totally worth checking out for $20-$30, although I would’ve paid full price for this one. Enjoy, don’t sleep on this VN

I expected Chaos;Child to be shorter, and I'm glad it was way longer than I expected. I think it took me between 25-30 hours to finish the main story, and there's still extra post-game stuff that I still didn't do.
If you still hesitate to try out a Visual Novel, I assure you it's worth it plenty. It's easy to play (read) it a bit even if you don't have much time to spend or at times when you don't have the energy to focus on an actual game. Also, if you're the kind to focus on one game at a time, it's easy to also play a Visual Novel along another game because the experience is completely different.
I already took note of the crew that worked on Chaos;Child: pqube, mages, 5pb and Chiyomaru studios. I already ordered Steins;Gate Elite made by the exact same crew (minus Spike Chunsoft being the publisher instead of pqube) for a good price and plan to try out Steins;Gate 0 afterwards (published by pqube).
Three things:
1) DO NOT WATCH THE ANIME ADAPTATION OF THIS AT ALL COSTS! It is a rushed mess (they tried to cram a 70 hour long VN into 12 20-minute episodes) and will ruin the twists of one of the best VNs ever made!
2) this game is LONG (you're looking at about 50-70 hours to complete depending on your reading speed) so you're definitely getting your money's worth!
3) The game is a thematic sequel to Chaos;Head, although having read it/seen it's anime isn't required at all (and I strongly suggest skipping it's also rushed anime adaptation).
I don't want to go too in depth as spoiling anything about a masterpiece like this would be a mortal sin, so do yourself a favour; avoid the abomination of an anime adaptation at all costs and buckle in for a wild ride for the ages!
