He talked of having gone to Chief Parks to warn him of problems at Rampart only to have his concerns ignored. Then Rampart erupted. I found this book to be a fountain of information. I hope the murders of these 2 young men will be solved

I've been putting off writing a review for this book because I simply didn't know where to begin. WOW!!!!! That was my first thought after reading this book! Events are finally starting to fall into place after nearly 20 years of wondering what happened on that tragic, haunting and eerie night of September 7th 1996 when Tupac Shakur was gunned down in Las Vegas. I first became aware of Detective Russell Poole on the "Biggie and Tupac" documentary which I found to be extremely compelling. I took an instant liking to Detective Russell Poole as I could instantly tell he was an honest man that really did believe in doing his job of serving the public and working for the community, he was everything a good cop should be and today the movie is still one of my favorites. The film was also the first time that we as the public were able to try make sense of the murders, as to why they might have happened and as to who may have been behind them. The film opens the viewer up into a world where corrupt police officers and gangsters meet and work together, where police play by their own set of rules answering to nothing and no one! behaving more like gangsters than cops where murder, drug dealing, bank robberies and intimidation are all business as usual. Many of these officers worked for Deathrow Records, the label Tupac Shakur was signed to at the time of his murder. When Detective Russell Poole first uncovered this information as the lead detective on the Biggie Smalls case (Christopher Wallace) he brought this information of police corruption to his superiors but they immediately removed him from the case and ordered him not to investigate any further, why? were they worried what else he might find? was it just the tip of the Iceburg ? It certainly seemed so. Shortly after Russell came to be treated as a pariah in his department by his fellow police officers, for daring to speak out about his colleges illegal and criminal activities, breaking the oath and going against the police version of "No Snitching" known as "The Blue Wall of Silence". Soon after Russell decided to resign from the department, had he stayed a week longer he would have received a full police pension, but No, Russell Poole was too disgusted with what the department had become that he wanted nothing more to do with them. Ten years or so later Russell started to notice some documentary films being released about the Tupac murder by film maker RJ Bond and former Tupac bodygaurd Frank Alexander who had become close to Tupac while working for him and was also with Tupac on that fatal night he was cut down in Las Vegas. Russell saw that they were on the right track with their films, that they seemed to be sincere in what they were doing and so offered to share with them all his files on the case. Together they became an unstoppable force and uncovered more and more mind blowing information digging deeper than anyone ever had before. The "Biggie and Tupac" film was just the tip of the iceberg! we now have the full story! Russell wanted more than anything to solve the case, to get justice for both Tupac and Biggie, he now felt he had all the evidence he needed for justice to finally be served, But who was he going to take that evidence to ? who could he trust ? He new he couldn't trust the LAPD after what they did to him, it was clear they didnt want the cases solved, that they would do everything and anything they could to keep the truth concealed, So Russell contacted the sheriffs office thinking that they would be a good alternative, not realizing that many of his former murderous and corrupt colleges had since transfered into that very same department. They invited him to a meeting, they told him to bring all the new evidence he had and to come ALONE...Detective Russell Poole died in that meeting, we are told it was from a heart attack...this book is the reason why Russell Poole is dead. However they didn't suppose Russell would have saved and backed up all his work elsewhere, ready to be released by others should something happen to him. Russell knew what he was involved in, he knew the danger he was in and who he was up against, he took precautions with his work. This book, co written by Russell Poole's partner and friend Michael Douglas Carlin, is his work! They murdered Russell, my friend, so that the Information in this book would never get out, Well its on Amazon now! how do you like them apples!?

I have known Michael Carlin for many years, and have followed his investigations into the murders of Tupac and Biggie that led to Tupac 187. Now to see the follow up in Chaos, I have to ask "why has nothing been done by law enforcement to either accept or deny the facts presented?" One can only assume that there is far more pressure to suppress than there is to present. Who stands to gain (or lose) the most? Once you've read these books you too will be asking for answers.

Michael Douglass Carlin does it AGAIN! This book is a MUST-READ! This book has so great facts and written so well! I am very happy with this book. And for just 2.99 it is a STEAL! BUY THIS BOOK NOW! Don't think just do it!

A fascinating and entertaining coverage of the murders of rappers Tupac Shakur and Notorious BIG. Highly recommended. This cries out to be a movie.
