I learned in the first 2 books in this series that Sebastian has secrets. I found in this story that he doesn't even have all of the answers for them and it made it even better for me. I really enjoyed watching it all unfold.
It killed me that everyone kept calling him unstable. I'd be unstable too if I had to deal with the thoughts that ran through that mans mind. He lost his mom at a young age, was forced to live with a dad who didn't want him and had to live everyday with a family that didn't care if he was there or not. It absolutely broke my heart. Then he meets Payton and she turns everything around for him, shows him he is worthy of everything he ever dreamed of and more...Sounds like the perfect fairytale right? Wrong!
Sebastian had to work hard and fight hard for the answers, there is a little mystery and suspense in this story and who is behind it all? I saw it coming and I was surprised at the same time. (Yes, I am aware that does not make sense). Everything Sebastian thought before is now questioned and things got turned around, I didn't know what would happen next. It made me happy and broke my heart at how his life could have been different, but then Sebastian's life wouldn't have been what it is...Chaos!
I really enjoyed this conclusion to this story, getting all of the answers I was waiting for and finding the love story that melted my heart.
That being said, there was much about this series that was predictable. Sometimes that's a bad thing. But sometimes it's okay. If you're still interested in the journey of the characters it's not a bad thing to know how things will more or less pan out. Sure I suspected (strongly) "who done it" all along. How Sebastian and Payton went about getting proof and help and figuring it all out for themselves was still interesting.
The only reason this review is only 4 stars instead of the 5 I gave the other two books has to do with Aaliyah. Conrad never really explained why he allowed certain things to happen that had to do with Aaliyah and that seems important to me.
I'm kind of sad we won't get to see more of Leif and Toby and the rest of the gang, yet I understand why the story is not continuing. These characters are so volatile, it would be a shame for them to be diminished to supporting characters in someone else's story.
Is third book of a trilogy
Told from both POVs
Minor editing errors. Nothing too major
I have to be honest. I really struggled with this entire series. I have loved every book Nicole Edwards has ever published. The books in this series are the only ones I have not given 5 stars to. The plot line of the series was great but she really could have told this story in one book and I think that was where she lost me. Books 1 and 2 were too slow for me. This book was definitely the best of the three but by the time I got to this book I was just ready to get to the end of the story. All the big stuff happened in this book.
There were things I can't believe weren't spoken about more like how this entire series starts out with them dreaming about each other. I don't know about anyone else but if I dreamed about someone and then met them I definitely would be bringing that up. He finally mentions it with like 3 pages to go in the book but she never tells him she dreamed about him too. What the heck!!!!
Sebastian was a great book boyfriend but I just couldn't make myself love this series and I hate that cause Nicole Edwards is one of my favorite authors.
Anyway, the series. This is a great series. I like most of Nicole's writings but I have to tell you this one is one of my favorites by far. The book had a little of everything, humor, mystery, drama, and get out the tissues, heartbreak. As always, character development is great. Sabastian is by far my favorite character. He was very complex and the manner in which Nicole develops his character is admirable. Payton is a close second along with the supporting cast. Particularly Sabestian's friends Leif and Toby - they were hilarious together. Looking forward to reading Leif and Alleyah's story. And Aaron and Garret'ts story. And Toby and Claire's story. But please Nicole or Timberyn, write them in one book - no more cliffhangers. Love end ending, particularly the Epilogue. Thank you Nicole - great job!!!
