Her extensive exerience shared from real life case studies provide insightful tools for those of us who serve as chaplains.
Having heard this author speak I can attest that she is truly a genuinely humble, self-less person with a great love for God that is manifested in her service to others.
The Chaplain is In: Journey to Health and Happiness definitely rates 5 stars!
The inclusion of exercises, affirmations, and continued access to the author through the Internet, keeps the book alive for those wanting/needing to go further. The book offers hope to those who are hurting and truly does the work of a chaplain.
I work in a mental health facility; many patients have physical health issues as well as mental/emotional problems that seem to be correlated. I'm buying several copies of this book for the hospital library- I highly recommend this book for anyone that cares about body/mind/soul wellness, or questions the nature of God in heart-rending events. I also thank the author for addressing the topic of mental illness and it's affect on the families!
With gratitude, Chery
Joy Smith is steeped in psychology and theology, and this is evident in her book. On a personal level, I have come to know Joy, and I am inspired by her calm Christian spirit, and it is also a fun-loving and human spirit, and God is at work in that life.
