Tried B+B for the first time while quarantined with the family. Used it every night for a week straight and was really impressed. I’ve used them all: BGE, FOGO, Cowboy, etc but I feel B+B is the best. Here’s why:
- bag was full of good sized pieces...almost logs
- burned hot, got to high temp quickly, and maintained the high temp for extended period of time. (Ideal for pizza night)
- rich flavor! I have to admit that B+B put a better Smokey flavor on the food. Not sure why it would be different than other lump charcoal but it certainly has a bolder smell and flavor...my family loved it. So good in fact, my neighbor Mr Keith almost broke the 6ft quarantine rule because he was dying to come get a taste of what he could smell from his backyard.

I see that Amazon doesn't carry my favorite hardwood charcoal anymore (Fogo), so I tried B&B as somebody put up a comparison review of 5 popular products. He loved this one but... I just have gotten a different batch.
He said that the chunks were nice-sized and there wasn't too much "gravel" (I guess that means the "small bits"). Also he said it started nicely and lasted a long time.

For me... I was pissed as, with the Fogo, I could start my coals with 1 Weber parafin starter. with B& B, it did nothing. I had to use a pair of them in my chimney to get them going.

Once I was ready to start grilling my prime filets, the sparks were all over the place and I was worried about starting a fire.

Also, there was a log more dust and pebble size pieces that what I'm used to. I guess I'm spoiled and I hope that Amazon brings back Fogo again.
