BOOK

The author did volunteer work at Third-World clinics, where modern medicines are often not available; this is the story of how he learned many uses for charcoal as medicine. It fascinated me, and then my wife.

I found the website (same name as title of book) while looking up 1st Aid treatments for Brown Recluse Spider Bites; I'd seen the result of such bites, and wanted to be prepared. (A friend got bitten while camping, but did not recognize it for what it was; neither did the emergency room doctors, until it was too late, resulting in a two-year treatment by surgery to debride and skin-graft, then crutches, etc -- geez, what an ordeal!)

MY RESULTS

1. One of the suggestions is to to keep a grey-water (1 TBL Activated-Charcoal in quart of water, excess falls to bottom) in the frig for indigestion or upset stomach, diarrhea, etc. But, another use is for contact-allergy -- the wife brushed up against some Juniper, neither soap & water nor Meat Tenderizer worked, so I tried grey-water, but it did NOT work! I suddenly realized I could just shake the bottle to increase concentration -- then pour and rub for second and it worked IMMEDIATELY! The relief was evident in her face, even before she said, "It's gone!"

2. My nine-year-old put her hand right down on a wasp or bee! The tears & screaming just kept coming, even after the Meat Tenderizer treatment (which works for me, mostly). Then, the senior Estrogen-Unit reminded me about AC, so I got the little hand wet, sprinkled A/C on, a bit more water and rubbed. Result was INSTANT -- crying stopped immediately. Again, the relief was in her face, before she said "Daddy, it doesn't hurt anymore". That just floored me!

I have been using activated charcoal for my family for years - for sore throats, heartburn, gastrointestinal disturbances, sores and abscesses, etc. It works quickly and well and my family rarely goes to the doctor because of this simple cure (and other healthy lifestyle habits we practice).

This book has taught me many more uses for charcoal that I was unaware of. The author includes many testimonies of people who have used charcoal in a variety of situations - including severe illnesses, poisonings, infections, etc. Especially encouraging are the stories of people whose cases seemed hopeless, even to the doctors, and how activated charcoal was used to return them back to health. Every household ought to have this book and a supply of activated charcoal on hand.

The author of this book first tried charcoal on the advice of a missionary doctor and recovered quickly, encouraging him to look further into charcoal, how it works, the scientific research on charcoal, the many ways charcoal is used in every day life, and testimonies of people around the world who have used it for a variety of conditions, from mild to serious, with astounding results. I highly recommend this book!

I love this book and have read is through and then referred to it countless times. It has saved our family lots of money on doctor visits and traditional medications. We have learned from it how to treat some serious medical conditions (staph infection, brown recluse spider bites, red wasp stings, food poisoning etc.) and less serious conditions (stomach flu, eczema, stomach problems etc.) The book is fascinating as well as extremely useful and maybe even life saving!

John Dinsley has taken the wisdom and knowledge from his own experiences as well as the other books on the subject and condensed it into one book. Covers all uses internal and external. Explains what it is and isn't used for. How it works different forms and how it extends beyond health into many other areas. Shares historical background and uses of it. Clearly states that Charcoal is still a mystery to be revealed. Gets down to explaining what to do when you dont have the "store bought" on hand and how charcoal is everywhere just use your common sense. Valuable are all the stories interweaved throughout the book that illustrate its uses. Great book. A keeper in the library. One of the best holistic health care books on my shelf. It is thorough. It is enough detail without too much. Just right.

This book is simply superb, telling the reader about how the writer came to be involved in not just seeing the benefits of charcoal, but much, much more. So many of the benefits are substantiated by eye-witness reports and first hand experience. Whatever your ailment it may be that charcoal can help! Neil, Somerset, UK
