I've been aware of Brendon for a long time - have really enjoyed his videos and truly brilliant take on success and success strategies. So of course was anxious to give this a read. In a nutshell, he writes about each of the five baseline drives and the five "forward" drives (those that raise us to a whole other level). Basically, the levels are those associated with self development. If you're just getting started in personal development, then this is probably the book for you. However, having been in that space for many years, I found myself getting kind of bored - I just wanted more juice. While this book is the culmination of his self-development efforts and ah-has, I think he is far more skilled in the marketing arena.
As I said at the beginning of this review - a good book, but just not one for me.
"The Charge" seemed more appropriate, but after reading only 285 pages at the cost of $14.33, I'm feeling a bit let down.
I was inspired to write in my journal and do the exercises, but again, I'm feeling kind of "eh," because the book was so short.
It was inspiring, but I'm wanting more :( Perhaps more exercises, perhaps more words of wisdom, perhaps if the cost was $4.33 I'd feel satisfied....
