This charger is great, but I see a ton of people saying they expected it to charge "X" phone at super fast speeds because it produces 30 watts, and then claim it's dysfunctional. It's not; it's just that both phone and charger marketing don't clearly communicate what wattage means, what it doesn't mean, and why voltage and amperage are more important for determining charge speed.
The way you calculate wattage is you take the voltage used multiplied by the amperage being pulled. So, 5 volts x 3 amps is 15 watts, 12 volts x 2.5 amps is 30 watts, etc.
Phones are limited to 5v charging, while tablets and laptops can use 9v, 12v, 15v or 20v depending on the model. If you read the output specs, this charger only puts out 2.5 amps at 5 volts. That means it can only supply 12.5 watts to a phone, regardless of which port you use. However, it can output 20v @ 1.5A to a laptop, so it's rated at 30 watts.
The reason OnePlus Warp Chargers and Samsung Fast Chargers can deliver faster charging is because they output higher amperage using PROPRIETARY power delivery specs that output 5v @ 6A and 5v @ 5A respectively. You cannot and will not find a third-party charger that will match that power output due to its proprietary nature. You are locked into buying official chargers until the standard USB spec is changed to include higher amperage at 5v.
