Charity ran away from an abusive ex-husband who refused to accept that they were divorced. She settles in Texas, thinking that she had finally escaped her former life, but an increasing spate of vandalism has made her realize that her ex-husband, a military man, was out to get her.
Charity and Nick, both battle-scarred and wary of getting hurt again, decide to give each other a chance, but it had to take a confrontation with both their pasts, and learning to trust, before they realized that they were meant for each other.
I always love a story wherein both hero and heroine had to battle their inner demons before finding their HEA, and I am glad that Christie Adams wove such a wonderful tale with this one. She gave me feels with how genuine she portrayed Charity and Nick's characters, and what's more, she gave Ghost and his team, Susan Stoker's alpha men, justice in that she stayed true to their characters.
So I say bravo, and thank you, Christie Adams, I will definitely look forward to reading your other stories!
Characters were well written and I was rooting for both the main characters to find their HEA.
Will be going back to read more from this author , recommend this book.
