I did a little modifying to the blade by bending it and now it works as it should. I wish I would done this from the start to save myself all the grief.
So I fully removed the bottom, easily tapped out the crumbly concrete pieces, then refilled it with a smooth mix of cement leveling compound to give it the weight. Once the cement cured, the bottom was glued back onto the shell. After rebuilding the defective product, I now have a good tape dispenser.
If it weren't for the lack of quality control in manufacturing, the dispenser is a good unit. Maybe I just happened to get the one being made during shift change.
I suppose it's useable... but, barely. I guess it's better than paying $24.00 for the really nice one. Or, is it? It's OK... but you probably get what you pay for.
You would have to remove half of the tape to get it in.
I did not expect this and broke the spindle when trying to load it.
(I hardly pushed on the roll.)
Heavy: yes. Heavy duty: far from it.
15 bucks wasted.
I didn't contact the seller in order to get the spindle replaced in time but if they had, it may have worked fine. I just remember the old ones with the metal spindle that never broke.

Dispenser was broken in two places. Also, looks like a use unit.Published 8 months ago by Henry Sester
We own several restaurants and these are the only tape dispensers that we've found that hold up! They're handled/used multiple times daily and employees are not easy on them. Read morePublished 9 months ago by Wendi S.
The core spindle is made of plastic - they break off within days of using. As we all know, a tape dispenser is useless if the roll of tape can't spin in the dispenser. Read morePublished 13 months ago by aps
I use this at work, in a professional kitchen - we use green painter's tape for labeling containers, and many chefs will use a knife to get a clean cut on the tape, in order to... Read morePublished 13 months ago by bluechef
It is rather large, but that is to be expected for a dispenser that takes 3 inch cores and has enough weight to hold itself in place while using.Published 14 months ago by ThatGuy
