From the Inside Flap
"As a heart attack," he coolly replies. His dark gaze challenges me, but I can't figure out if it's a test. Does he want me to obey or fight him on it?
I stand, and our chests brush in the process, sending a wave of heat flooding through me. Ignoring my cursed libido, I glare at him. "I'm not doing that. It's unethical, illegal, and downright disgusting."
He smirks, and the urge to slap him again is riding me hard.
"Let's not pretend, Demi." He places his thumb on my neck, just underneath my jawline, right in the spot where my pulse is jumping like crazy. "There would be nothing disgusting about it, and we both know it."
He tilts his head to the side as his thumb swipes back and forth across my overly sensitive flesh. "I know you're a good girl, Demi. Everyone can see that." He leans in close to my face, lining his lips up with mine, keeping scant distance between us.
At this proximity, his spicy, woodsy scent assaults me, holding me prisoner, ensuring I can't move a muscle.
"But I also know you're a naughty, dirty girl." He presses a kiss to the corner of my mouth. "And I'm guessing that side of you hasn't been explored." He trails his hand up the side of my thigh, over my skirt, but I still feel his touch skin-deep. "I know you want to do it, dirty girl. You want to sink to your knees and enjoy every mouthwatering moment." He grips my hip hard, and I gasp, the pain sending a torrent of heat to my core.
A switch flicks in my brain, and I shove at his chest, pushing him back a couple steps. "You know nothing, Mr. Barron. I'm not some cheap ***** you can manipulate. I have more self-respect."

I’m going to be honest I didn’t think I was going to like Charlie after everything that happen and all the things that he has done. But after reading this I have since changed my mind. Charlie is lost and so very lonely trying to come to terms with everything that has happened and the part’s that he played. But what really endeared me to him was watching him with Demi. Yes, in the beginning he is a jerk and he bullies her but even as he’s doing it you can tell that it’s just a façade that he has put on so he doesn’t let anyone close again. Watching as his and Demi’s relationship evolves you can see the transition in him as his layers slowly start breaking away. It was at these moment’s that I understood Charlie and really started liking him.

I loved Demi she is pure fire and spunk, she puts Charlie in his place repeatedly and doesn’t back down when he’s being a colossal jerk to her. She has been through a lot and has so much on her plate, but she still does not cower to Charlie. Her strength is Soul Deep and she is exactly what Charlie needed to help him get through his grief and try and start living again.

I loved this book; it may be shorter than Siobhan’s others, but it still packs the same punch that we’ve come to love. This story is strife with tension and unexpected reveals that will have you reeling, but thankfully this one does not end on one of Siobhan’s signature Cliffys. This book has revamped my excitement for the next installment in the Rydville Series and I can’t wait to see where she takes us next.
Charlie, oh Charlie! I had so many questions about you. So many theories after Sweet Retribution running amok in this brain of mine. I love that many of my questions were answered. I love even more that I now have more questions and theories about other characters. BTW...We will have their answers coming our way.
Charlie is most definitely one of those characters that your heart probably didn’t see coming. The Charlie you meet on page one, is not the Charlie that you will be left with at the end of the book. The growth that this character goes through is tremendous. My guess is he needed this amazing woman to bring him to his knees.
I think in his quest to try to break her, he broke himself, in the best way, only to build himself back stronger and better than ever. What I love about Siobhan Davis is she can take thes characters that you think are just deplorable and make you fall head over heels, unequivocally In love. Yes, I LOVE CHARLIE BARRON! ♥️🥰♥️
Demi is a fantastic character. Now my heart was devastated many times over for this girl. But I’m pretty obsessed with her. She was strong and brave and beautiful. With everything she had gone through and was going through, her strength was inspiring. With Charlie she gave as good as she got. He was irresistible, yes, rude, absolutely, but she was not a doormat. I loved that about her character. Their banter was fiery and explosive. There were most definitely times where you thought they could go straight from fighting to… oh you know! 😏🤭
Charlie was another phenomenal addition to the Rydeville Elite Series. I cannot wait for more. Siobhan never fails to captivate me from the first page. She had me hanging on every word, from start to finish. I’ve learned not to try to predict what will happen next in her books, because she’s the queen of giving you something unexpected. I love that! She plants little seeds, so you can get your theories a spinnin’! Well, I for one was born ready for this series and I’m SO Ready for more! My seeds are ready to start sprouting Siobhan, so bring on Jackson!
All the Stars in the Sky for Charlie! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Charlie grew up following the direction of his father and The Elite and now he knows it was wrong in so many ways. After losing Abby, he never had her from the start, and losing his father he is trying to move on. And learning the ropes of running his father's company because he is now going to be running it. His father's assistant Demi is someone whom he wants and it eats at him. They are like fire & ice, oil & water, they don't seem to mix. That is until they actually talk to each other.
Demi had to leave college during her last year because her father got sick, he is dying from cancer. Now she is working for the company that fired her father and for a man she hates. She hates Charlie so much she likes him. The sparks fly between them each time they are close.
Can Demi and Charlie put aside their petty bickering and see that love can blossom? Will Charlie realize Demi is just what he needs? Can Charlie help Demi with her father?
I really liked this story but to me, it seemed to be missing something, I think it needed more of Abby and the rest of the guys but it was not their story. So it was really good just not great for me. If you loved the Rydeville Elite, then you will enjoy this one too.

I know that this is a single book and not a trilogy so won't have the same level of depth. But even stand-alones have a certain level of depth.
I feel like this was rushed, certain parts felt like they should have carried more weight and been bigger.
Demi felt a little two dimensional and flat, it made it hard to form an emotional attachment to her
Another annoyance was the sugary sweet everything is coming up roses vibe.
The rydville series was dark as gritty, but this has none of that. And revelations about the elite in this book felt inconsequential and no big deal .
So yeah overall this was a pretty big let down.
That's not to say it's not worth a read cause it is. I've certainly read worse. I think ultimately that it just feels like it's lacking heart from the author .
This review pains me to write as I absolutely adore Siobhan Davis books. Perhaps it's a case of over inflated expectations.
What a love to have... they are perfect for each other.
Was so nice to get snippets of the rest of the crew too.
I’ve not come across 1 book by Siobhan that I haven’t enjoyed, and she doesn’t disappoint with Charlie.
Another book I hated putting down to ‘adult’.
