I really loved this season it was so awesome. I really wish Netflix would have picked it up. I miss this show so much. I'm a big fan of both charmed shows.
It arrived early which was nice but was in the Region 1 format so I had to watch it downstairs and waited a few days before doing so and when I started I found it curiously coincidental that there were scenes involving blowing out candles; my brother Tim had just bought a candle to hang in the back garden in a lantern and I was given the job of blowing it out after it had been on for a while and Mum was given the job of lighting it. Tim looks like Leo from the original version of CHARMED and I can remember imagining the character as looking like our Tim and insisting that someone be cast who looked like him... but I digress. I enjoyed the final season of the second version of CHARMED more than I expected to but I still missed Macy and Abigael. I would like to watch it again and see how much light there was in it, as well as wanting to watch it again for other reasons including my own enjoyment. I mention light because it seemed rather dark - the way in which scenes were often lit or not - and there being a bar called the Blue Camelia reminded me of the bar in Limbo run by a blue jinni in the 4th and Final Season of LEGACIES, which I haven't reviewed yet but have binge-watched twice and also have memories of writing. Sir James Fraser wrote an epilogue to THE GOLDEN BOUGH in which he talks about the three women at the foot of the Cross and how they were reminiscent of a recurring theme in mythology where there were instances of three powerful women, and I find myself thinking of the Graeae and the Gorgons... as well as the 3 women who help Tamino in THE MAGIC FLUTE... and CHARMED was one of the ideas I came up with at Xmas 1985 to celebrate being offered a place at Oxford... which was a few years before the publication of THE SATANIC VERSES by Salman Rushdie. I may have mentioned these things before and fear of repeating myself or of being misunderstood and creating the wrong impression may have caused me to delay writing this review... as well as wanting to avoid providing too many spoilers. The Graeae actually appear and I thought one of them was played by an actress who had played a character in NEIGHBOURS who had an affair with Leo Tanaka before being arrested... but looking on the internet indicated that it was a different actress... and I am just thinking of something about tallymarks on ONLY CONNECT this evening and about the Tallyman in the series under review, and about a sermon that was once preached at St Paul's Litherland when I used to attend in which the lay reader Bill mentioned his brother Ian hanging a teddy bear when they were young and it reminded me of how I had once hanged a toy pink elephant. There was something in this series involving a toy pink elephant that ... but I wonder whether I am giving too much away, and I had thought of saying that I was clearly a very disturbed little boy, but I am also wondering whether I have exceeded some word limit and am going to have to edit myself... and I feel that I haven't given the sensible, sane and intelligent and witty review I wanted to give... but perhaps humility is a good thing. I also thought about writing about what the name Inara means to me... and about how I once either went bowling with my cousin Melanie or met her at a bowling alley when I went there with some friend or friends or even work colleagues... and it was probably in the 1990s. I shall try and send this or post or submit it and apologize for this review not being as well written as I would like it to be. I suddenly find myself remembering reading something on Bing over the past hour about whales with Alzheimer's or maybe it was dolphins. If my dad has it, what are the chances I have it or will get it? I would like to thank the people who made CHARMED and appeared in it and hope people will watch and enjoy it despite my less than perfectly written and rather rambling review.
