Well, shoot. I really thought I was going to like this one. I mean I pretty much go crazy for rich, entitled, bossy leading men. I'm an easy sell! That being said, I should have been in heaven with Chase. Unfortunately, a major turn off for me is what I have started calling "manufactured drama". It's popping up in more and more books and it was in total OVERKILL in Chase.

If you don't know what I'm talking about, here are some examples: That means if you have a new girlfriend and you already have a bad reputation and alot to prove, you don't let girls sit in your lap. You don't let ex-girlfriends sleep in your bed. You don't let ex-girlfriends close enough to grab you and suck face with you (on more than one occasion). You don't keep major secrets that are bound to come out. You don't hang out at topseller bars. You don't have crazy ass parties. You don't take girlfriend to toxic parents house so he can make her feel like nothing.

Manufactured drama causes all kind of angst that would have been very easy to avoid. Unfortunately, thats all this book was. The story would go to one situation that could have been avoided to the next sitation that could have been avoided and on and on and on. The characters made nothing but bad decisions which were driven by extreme immaturity. It's disappointing because I actually liked the chemistry between Layla and the brothers alot. I thought it was very sweet how they were protective of her and enjoyed reading about the time they spent together.

I know I'm in the minority by not liking this book but honestly, I barely could finish it...I'm going to save myself a headache though (as well as some disappointment) and skip reading anything else in this series. "SAY NO" to fake angst!

I really enjoyed this book. 'Chase' is a character driven romance with great dialogue, an alpha H, a likable h, and wonderful secondary characters. No exaggerated plot devices were used because they really weren't necessary. That's how well developed these characters were.

To start, our heroine Layla Crawford was essentially fleeing her family home in order to gain some independence and much needed distance from her overbearing mother. Just a week before classes were to begin, she found herself desperately searching for a place to live. Down to the last ad in the paper, she was stressed, to say the least, until she pulled up in front of a gorgeous house that was surprisingly tidy, despite the fact that her three would-be roommates were all males. Considering it was her last option and she was completely disarmed by the charming James, Layla immediately moved in. She soon found out that not only were her three roommates extremely hot, but also brothers.

Layla was sweet, smart, witty, beautiful, independent, and rolled with the punches - taking life as it came. Yet, she never gave up on her dreams. She was, to put it simply, genuine.

Our hero, Chase Jackson was a sexy as all hell, womanizing alpha who had a dubious past that was filled with one-night stands and open relationships. To be blunt, he was the player that put all other players to shame. But, Layla was the one woman who could change Chase's ways. She was THE WOMAN.

Kade and James Steele. There's just so much I could say about these two... I absolutely loved them!

James was a complete mystery and I really hope he gets his own book. Perhaps with Sasha? A girl can hope! I'm dying to know where he disappears to and what 's***' needed to be done that was consistently hidden from Layla.

If you like weak simpering heroines this is for you! Maybe it's a personal view but, I hate manwhore alpha males that fall in love, so the girls they love are good girls and worthy of being their girlfriends, but treat every other girl like dumb sluts. I thought the main characters lacked charm, or intrigue. This whole thing fell really flat for me, as far as character and plot development goes.

This book is a wana be of great drama books out there. to me it feels like high school type of book even though the characters are in their twenties. it was to rushed. he saw had to have her, no one else could have her. he'd change his playboy ways for her..... he didnt even know her for 24 hrs!

I tried the free sample first and loved it from the start. However, I wish the sample was just a couple of pages longer because I never would have bought it. It was great until Chase walked in. First off the connection between them is entirely too forced and rushed. It was almost like the author was too excited to get to some of the more sexual scenes and rushed through it. Chase was overbearing and controlling and rude (and not in the sexy bad boy way(more like he was the possible abusive ex in the story)). And while I am definitely no stranger to cussing, its nice to sometimes spice it up with something other than just the F word. If the author would have just left Chase out this book would have been five stars, but every scene with him just made this book less and less appealing.

Layla moves into a room to be near her university. The house is occupied by 3 brothers who have no trouble sharing women amongst themselves. Layla only meets the two younger brothers at first as the eldest is frequently out-of-town. The eldest brother, Chase, is someone who spotted Layla a few years earlier and felt immediately attracted to her but resisted due to her being only 17 and he was 22. When Chase sees Layla at a nightclub, 3 years later, he decides to seize the opportunity and totally commit himself to her. She is of course wary as she's already witnessed his womanizing ways and doesn't want to be another notch on his bedpost.

I was okay with the love at first sight and Chase's alphaness, but agree with other reviewers that there was too much angst and the 3 brothers were too much the manwhores. There was also a feeling of rinse/repeat in the storyline: a former sex partner shoots daggers at Layla while at the same time propositioning one of the guys. Layla naturally gets ticked off and questions Chase's faithfulness. As the story progressed, it entered into two really big angst pregnancies that ended up feeling weird.
