The writing was pretty common, pretty light I might add. Most of the book I was not invested into the story or the characters. In the first book we got the mental illness subject and it was interesting. Here we don't have anything to keep our interest, besides Conner being fluid in his sexuality and wanting to experiment with men.
The MCs jumped in bed pretty fast and again I have to admit I didn't feel a connection or many sparks between them. And I think the authors just... matched them and didn't make an effort to really focus on the attraction.
I think it's my fault in picking up this series. The angst in SO low and everything falls into place too easily for my taste. It was romantic and sweet, hot at times, but just not my thing.
"Opposites attract in the best way!"
What did you love best about Chase the Sun?
I loved the story! I loved how both Conner and Jamie really "found" themselves during the course of the book. I loved their easy friendship and the way they were able to pick right up with each other, even without having seen each other in years.
And it wasn't awkward when things moved out of the friendship zone- it was just another facet to their relationship.
Who was your favorite character and why?
I liked Conner and Jamie equally. They are so different and I really enjoyed getting to know them both.
Have you listened to any of Tyler Stevens and Iggy Toma ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
This was my first book narrated by either of them, but I'll definitely be looking for more!
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Not to spoil anything, but when they were at the cabin and Conner opened himself up to Jamie. And when he went home to Oregon and had the sit down with his parents- I'm so happy that happened.
Any additional comments?
This is the second book in the series, but it can definitely be read as a standalone. But I will be going back to read about Lucas and Gabriel!
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes! It's a wonderful story, and the narrators are fantastic.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Conner was my favorite character. I felt like he grew the most during the story.
What about Tyler Stevens and Iggy Toma ’s performance did you like?
Everything! They brought the guys to life and made me feel like they were the characters. They each always do a great job, and they are two of my favorite narrators.
Any additional comments?
Everything about this audiobook makes me happy. I highly recommend it.

“I love you, Jamie Tolland.”
“I love you too, Conner Murphy,” he replies, and we continue to chase the sun.
The second book in this series and a standalone, we do meet Conner in book one and we re-visit with Gabe and Lucas so if you like to have them connections I'd advise reading book one, Touch the sky.
This time we have Conner and Jamie. They grew up in the same small town but Conner who is a free spirit and loves to explore life, left.
Jamie didn't. Jamie stayed in the town where they grew up and worked in his father's garage and was there for both his parents.
They fell out of contact as life went on but Conner's uncle Kenny died and he left behind his car for Conner, Jamie was fixing it up and offered to drive it out to him in L.A.
They reconnect on their friendship while Jamie is out there and they learn a lot about their selves and each other and have choices to make when it comes to what they want to do with their lives.
I LOVED THESE TWO. They were a great match. Their relationship is based on friendship and I feel like that's what made this story. And made them so lovable. It was great just to experience that while they got there, it was just so lovely to get that natural development and fall in love slowly but surely, along with them. It was so natural and SO RIGHT.
'Everything makes a whole lot more sense when I’m kissing Jamie Tolland.'
Conner is a DORK. His flirting and easy going attitude makes you roll your eyes but fall in love with him, even Ezra did! No matter how he protests it. But there's a lot more to Conner. He knows himself more than he thinks, he's much more than he knows and my heart honestly sank for him when it came to his parents. They're not bad people but I just... it hurt. I hurt for him.
Jamie is cute and a little shy with his freckles and blushing. He is so kind hearted, he also wasn't so sure of himself or where he wanted to be, where he wanted to go, but again he knew more than he realized.
These two were perfect for each other, they are the missing piece to the others puzzle. I just adored the progression of them falling in love. I fell in love with their friendship. That first kiss was so cute and was everything. There was confusion between them, in their own minds, they never expected to fall in love, and at times they weren't quite sure of it but I had no doubt they'd get there in the end.
'He’s like fuel for my soul and he doesn’t even realize he’s got all of that inside him.'
If I haven't said it enough already, I'll say it again! I LOVED this. It's a feel great, friends to lovers, story. Nyrae and Christina rock the heck out of the co-writing thing and I can't wait to see where they take us next. *Crosses fingers for Ezra*
