GAH! Another fantastic book of epicness from my forever unicorn authors, Kennedy Fox! Chasing Him will straight up grip you from the heart and hold absolutely nothing back from start to finish! It was sweet yet raw, funny yet emotional, and 100% swoon due to the fact that John took hold of everything in me by being THE single dad of 2018!
John and Mila’s relationship is what real love is made of. They showed how ugly and hard it can be at times, but it doesn’t matter when you put the ones you love first! (At this point, while you should always focus on self happiness first and foremost, they easily showcased that their happiness came from simply making the one they love happy no matter how much it may hurt).
I just can’t with these two! Every time I think KF can’t top the tremendous things they’ve already written, they bust out a book that takes the cake and steals the show EVERY. SINGLE. TIME! Chasing Him will stay with me for as long as Baby Maize is loved by the entire Bishop clan that we all fell in love with ourselves. Which equates to this book staying with me no shorter than forever!
This is John’s book and he’s one of the twins … we all know Jackson well. We end Evan’s book with finding out that John’s a father – unbeknownst to him. After reading the letter that arrived with the little girl, John knows it’s his and with everyone’s help, he start to figure out how to be a father. He’s also dealing with all the issues and emotions surrounding what happened to the little girls mother; which is tragic. While John is doing his best a parenthood, he’s falling down on his work and the rest of his life trying to learn and keep up. Enter Mila, the nanny.
Mila, is the granddaughter of a friend of John’s mom and a recent grad in elementary education. Add in cute and willing to help out/work is a total plus. John has trouble taking the help and their first meeting is one for the record books, thanks to Jackson’s ways. Mila proves to be the blessing that John is needing and she works out wonderfully with John and Maize.
As things happen, we see John and Mila falling for each other even though they are both fighting it. John, as he doesn’t think it’s right to hook up with the nanny and Mila because she has other plans for her future. But as things have it, they end up falling but going slowly. As time flies by Mila’s dream job comes up but she doesn’t know what to do. Stay with John and Mazie or go for the job and give them up. John encourages her to follow her dreams and says he’ll wait for her but her heart wants to stay and isn’t in the teaching position.
John continues to push her to follow through for at least a year to make sure that she has a chance to see it all. While Mila finally agrees she’s miserable. As timing would have it, the great “guy” action is coming up and she has a sneaky plan with Mama Bishop – it’s classic and we get the HEA that we love.
We also get to catch up with the rest of the gang but we find Jackson not doing so hot and it’s all due to Kiera making plans for her future and they don’t include him. It looks to be an epic ending to the series and I can’t wait for it .. Keeping Him has a release day of 18-20 Sept 2018 on multiple platforms.
When he is way over his head, having not a clue what to do with a newborn, Mila comes in to rescue him. She is a young women who just graduated from college with a degree in early childhood education, so when she shows up at John's door for the job as a nanny, she is perfect, in more ways than one. When attraction is undeniable, they both push it aside and try not to think about it because Maize is their number one concern. But you know, when that attraction is strong and that spark refuses to die, they can't help but let it take over.
This book has so much laughter, heartache, *bring tissues* sadness, love, passion, the SLOW BURN ROMANCE! It will get to you. The push and pull is so strong, it will have you pulling your hair, but at the same time, it is amazing! John has so much passion, it is amazing and so beautiful. That is what i'd call the relationship between John and Mila, they don't have just a sexy, hot relationship, so much happens between them that brings them together, they have such a beautiful life together. Their connection is undeniable and it happens so fast, but that's what makes it special.
Kennedy Fox hit a grand slam on this one. John is amazing. You will laugh, you will cry, you will fall in love with John and Mila and the whole Bishop clan, even more than before!
5 amazing foxes!
My heart seriously broke and tears were shed, when Maize enters John's life. So tiny and so precious and so alone. Her mothers letter to John seriously damaged me in such a good and profound way. Bailey made the ultimate sacrifice to ensure her child would have life. She also made the decision to surprise John with his daughter after her short life was gone. And, from the second John discovered Maize he was so head over heels. Trying to be the best father he could be, he set a pace that lead him to burnout and he needed help.
Mila needed to get away from her life and her best friend whom she was in love with, but didnt return the sentiment. So she goes to Texas to stay with her grandparents. There she meets Rose Bishop and gets talked into being Maizes nanny and to help John with her.
The story that follows is a masterpiece. Single dad falling for his nanny! Nanny falling for, not only the child, but daddy as well.
And of course, you couldnt have this book without the rest of the Bishops. You get more of your favorites with this one as well. Love all those boys!

Love these authors great books laughs tears cries of joy and sadness.
Each book is brilliant and not ones you can put down when you start.
Can't wait for Jackson's book.
Mila and John’s story. It is a story that starts very slowly. I really had to come in because you have to wait quite a while before things really get started between the two of them. Of course the scenes between Maize and anyone are gold because she’s a precious little sweetheart.
At the end of ‘Needing Him’ we find out John’s become a dad, but then you don’t know anything about the mom or what happened. In ‘Chasing Him’ you find out the details of everything that happened to John that has to do with Maize and her mom of course, but again, it is predictable. It doesn’t make it any less good or something like that, just a tad less exciting, because it’s exactly what I thought it would be –again, not at all bad.
Kennedy Fox is a really steady author and I really love her writing style and her books, so she literally can’t do anything wrong in my eyes I guess. Her characters are very different, fun and interesting because some you don’t see through in a second. Her writing isn’t too difficult, but also not too simple, so it’s really balanced.
Then, for ‘Chasing Him’, I really enjoyed reading it. It is so different from the last two that it keeps
it very interesting and keeps you hooked to the story. Especially John, I had to read more and more.
It’s also a book about single-parenting and in the New Adult genre you don’t see it often from the start like this. It is a special book and I honestly can say this series is becoming one of my favorites of all the ones I’ve read so far.
