Sable Island, located in the stormiest part of the North Atlantic, is so ringed with shipwrecks that it is known as the Graveyard of the Atlantic. For hundreds of years, most believed the herd of wild horses that roamed the dunes were survivors of shipwrecks. In Chasing Wild Horses, Roberto Dutesco discovers the true origins of the mysterious horses, sharing their romantic and surprising history.

Terrific documentary! If you like nature, especially horses, and beauty, watch this wonderful story unfold. The photography alone was worth watching it. The photos he took were unbelievably beautiful. The wild horses eventually accepted him as just part of the landscape. Beautiful untouched land. I have watched it 2 times and will watch it again I am sure.

I love horses. I love photography. I love space, and even a glimpse at nature at its purest. This film is wonderful. Roberto Dutesco's sensitivity, patience, drive and great eye made it so -- and the accompanying
cameraman matches his sensibilities.

I live on an island in the Caribbean with wild horses, and free roaming horses (not so wild). It was wonderful to see this herd, free and behaving like horses. Thoroughly enjoyable, and nice to know they are there. I can see why people thought it was not suitable for children, but I would let my children see it. Kids are aware of fashion photography and this points out nicely the difference between manufactured commercial beauty and the real deal.

This was a very poignant movie about a photographer filming the wild horses on a protected island. It was fascinating to watch him work, and the photography of this virgin island and the beautiful horses who live there was worth the viewing. Although humans are allowed by permission only, these horses seemed spellbound by Mr. Dutesco, and allowed some beautiful close-ups of the herd.

Really interesting documentary about the wild horses of Sable Island -- I'd never heard of it (probably for good reason -- quite remote.) As a photographer, I loved seeing the finished prints at the end.

Awsome moments with camera and of course the majestic wild inhabitants of Sable Island! Fell in love with the way the author put you with him on such a beautiful place on this earth. If you enjoy the free spirit of seeing horses as they were meant to be, you will savor every minute of this film. I want to go to there!!
I own horses and watching them have free roam on such an island as this, was breathtaking and heart warming. If only the BLM could follow, or better yet, lead the way in managing our native wild horses! "Only freedom on their backs!" I also visited the authors website and photo gallery. Truly amazing! I am also going to purchase the book!

What was most amazing to me about the wild horses of Sable Island is the fact that the Canadian government actually protects the animals from being turned in to a money-making side-show. Truly remarkable!

Wonderful film. Wasn't quite what I expected at first, but in a true well done form, the movie had a total transformation.
Yes, there are bits of women in lacy items, but its done in good taste and places a juxtaposition of the high fashion industry against the primitive wildness, and solitude of Sable Island.
