How I use them?
Mostly Coffee. Both cold brew and to make clean up for my frch press simpler.
I also use them to strain yogurt, but if I did so more often I would look for a larger size.
I make cold brew via a very sophisticated process of using Cafe Bustelo (a fine grind coffee), a large rubber maid pitcher, tap water, and a hideous coffee mug to weight the bags of coffee down. Some ask me for proportions; I am a freewheeling person who believes in good enough.
Considering the grind of the coffee, there is relatively little residue.
The trick to cleaning them for reuse is getting them tightly cinched and knotted, but in such a way you can untie the damp strings. When I do reuse them, I reuse them for the same purpose. I generally wash them with dish soap. Clean is when the rinse water is clear; the bags will be stained by coffee. Which is expected from natural fibers.
I recommend these for folks who need simpler clean up for French press coffee (maybe you make some in the office), test driving at home cold brew coffee, folks that don't want a unitasker cold brew “system”, for immersing herbs in stocks and soups, etc. Oh, and for straining yogurt.
A post script that has nothing to do with this product: use denture tablets every so often with your old brew pitcher to prevent discoloration and persistent coffee smells

They're a bit bigger than palm-sized. Definitely cheaply made. I found a few in the bag (brand new) that weren't sewn correctly and I tossed those since I have no sewing ability. The seams are definitely loosely threaded, so be careful with them. As you can see, this pouch has started to unthread on the side after only 2 uses. When it gets wet, the cinch is hard to open and close, so be careful not to pull it too hard or you'll tear the seam.It's a great price for what you get, though. I've given away about 30 of these little sacks because there's too many to know what to do with. I'm just worried that because of their poor quality, I might go through them relatively quickly, and that's wasteful. I'd rather spend more money on higher quality bags and recommend you do the same if you plan to use something like this often. However, for one-time use, such as for gifts or crafts, or if you're using it to hold dry products, I think they would be just fine.
