Slightly disappointed in this mount. But you do get what you pay for.
* Made of very thin metal for the main mount to the wall
* The rectangular wall mount actually consist of 6 separate pieces that you have to assemble.
* Does the mount work = Yes
* Does it feel cheap = Yes
* Do I think my TV will fall off = No
* Would I buy again = Not for anything bigger than a 47" (I mounted a 42")
* Good long quality HDMI cable
* Very cheap level was not very useful as it was poorly made. (Had to use my own level that was way more accurate)
* For under thirty bucks, you get what you pay for.
****Update July 22,2016***
**After posting the semi-negative review above for the Cheetah mount, customer service from Cheetah mount has now called me three times and has followed up with three emails encouraging me to update my review to a more positive rating. They have even gone as far as sending me a better built mount. If I get contacted by customer service again, it will be boarder line harassment because of my review.**
**The TV is still on the wall and has not moved**
***I'm still leaving this as a three star rating***

My first thought was why did people give this thing such good reviews. The instructions weren't the best and there was some room for interpretation in the pictures. For a fleeing moment, I almost boxed it up and returned it. But then I told myself to calm down and take step back and try again. This time I took my time reading the directions more closely and matched up the pictures to the parts. In a perfect world the rectangle;e bracket you see in the picture would already assembled but it is not. But once it started going together, the process started speeding up. I found my studs thanks to the "CH Hanson 03040 Magnetic Stud Finder" I ordered on Amazon. You need to get one of these first. It was my first time using it and I was amazed at how it would stick to the wall when it found a nail in the stud. Much better than a battery operated stud finder. So i got the brackets bolted to the studs and then back mounted to the 65" TV i own. It goes on very easy. There will be 2 pull cords that hand down which is kind of annoying. I taped them up to the back of the TV. You will need to be able to pull these if you want to unlatch your TV and take it down in the future. I have several TV mounted to the wall and most are articulating. This one was the hardest to put together but is the nicest overall and especially for the price. The TV really mounts snug to the wall. Very Impressed & I plan on changing out another one that I have installed in another room with this one becasue it is so much flusher to the wall.

My boyfriend and I just bought a new house. We wanted to save space by mounting our TV instead of having extra furniture to place it on. We went to Best Buy to see how much their mounts were and it was just completely insane! Needless to say, we were in and out in 2 minutes.
Then, we found this Cheetah TV mount on Amazon for a WAY better price. I was a little worried it would be cheap and possibly ruin my wall! But to our surprise, it came in and seemed to be of good quality. This mount was very easy to install and didn't take us long at all. We went with the wider mount because of the wall and our large television. The pull down clips make it so easy to quickly unhook the TV from the mount to adjust it and the TV just snaps right back in. I just wish there was a spot to hide the clips instead of them hanging down. Of course, there might be but I just can't see it. Also, it came with a free level, hdmi to hdmi cord, and a little Keychain led light. Even thought the little light had no power to it what-so-ever, it was still a cute idea.
The instruction manual is slightly confusing though. There were pictures but not enough explanation of the different parts. My boyfriend was able to figure it out on his own because luckily he's messed with TV mounts before.
Overall, the Cheetah mount is a solid mount and seems that it will last us for quite a while.

UPDATE 11-19-15: Just last week, the seller contacted me to address the issues I had. He stated a few solutions and said there will be changes regarding the hanging clips. Even offered a replacement LED light. They really seem to care about their customers!

I have mounted a lot of TVs over the years. I usually use articulating arms and after my latest installation using this Cheetah mount, I will probably stick with articulating mounts due to the ease of access they afford to the rear of the TV. Also, there is more assembly required with this the Cheetah. However, the Cheetah mount is a good product and the 55" Sony I hung on it is snug to the wall and securely mounted. Really, the type of mount you choose is a matter of preference. I now know I prefer articulating mounts. The one thing about the Cheetah I really felt wasn't totally thought out was the dangling strings for the bracket release. The instructions suggest tying them together to hide them behind the TV. I tried that and found it not to be a practical answer. The mount should provide a hook, or some method of concealing the strings. It was easy enough for me to find a tie-wrap saddle with double sided tape and slap it on the back of the TV. But not everybody has things like that lying around. Before you hang your TV on the mount, figure out how you plan to stash the dangling release strings. Not a huge deal, but better done before the TV is hanging.

APRIL 2017 EDIT: Revising my review. Same Amazon ASIN B0012S4APK product number. Same Manufacturer's APTMM2B product number on the box. ACTUAL PRODUCT IS VERY DIFFERENT. I've purchased sixteen of these mounts in the past 12 months. I will now be looking for another model to purchase.

The wall part is a large section and small section, instead of two equal width sections. Overall is a bit narrower than the old one making it difficult to mount 60mm wide VESA TVs, plus mounting slots are spaced farther apart making it trickier to mount onto studs. Also, the vertical VESA sections have only one hook per side and the metal appears thinner, so I have no confidence in it supporting the same 165 pound rating as the one with twice the hooks. I ended up borrowing one of the previous mounts from another location. If Amazon won't take this back, I'll use it for a much smaller TV.

In attached photos, the top item is the old one that everyone gave good reviews on. The bottom one is what we are now receiving. I see some other reviews indicating that I'm not the only one this has happened to.

------ OLD REVIEW ------

PRO: Great value for what is included. Does what it claims as a TV wall mount. Flexible for different TV sizes. Includes everything necessary. Strings/handles to unlatch are super handy. Adhesive magnets are handy and are a nice touch, though they aren't very powerful as magnets. Very sturdy once completely put together and wall mounted. Very small packaging for cheap shipping and easy storage before using.

CON: Included accessories of dubious value. Sure, HDMI cable is long and looks nice, but the sleeving makes it super stiff. The included levels aren't 100% level. I got several of these mounts, and the levels don't all agree with each other, or with a level purchased separately. They are _close_ but not quite. The tilt is either almost-but-not-quite upright, or a fixed tilt amount. You can't quite get it completely vertical. Because it is adjustable width for different TV sizes, the connecting part in the middle makes it not completely straight. All of the several mounts I bought have the middle part where it attaches together closer together than the ends.

Overall, because I'm buying the mount and not the accessories, very much worth the money.

I used this mount for a 200mm x 200mm horizontal bolt spacing on a 32-inch HDTV - and it stinks. This is a poor design for this 200mm spacing pattern as it is. Let me explain.

Here's the deal. The horizontal rails on which the TV hangs are actually two smaller rails bolted together end-to-end by a ~6-inch long small steel "patch". No problem in concept except that the patch bracket essentially doubles the thickness of the rail where it is bolted together. Keep this in mind as we continue...

The TV mounting brackets are U-shaped steel channels with two downward-opening V-shaped hangers on each bracket that are designed to sit nicely on the horizontal bracket. So far so good, except...

The problem with a 200mm mount is that TV mount brackets are about the same distance apart as the double-thick portion of the horizontal rail and if you do not place the TV EXACTLY dead-center on the horizontal rail, one of the TV brackets will be on the double-thickness portion of the rail and the other will be on the single thickness portion, and the bracket cannot hang level. The inverted V shape of the hangers is allowed to sit further downward on the single-thickness side, and the double-thick portion prevents the inverted V from sitting as low as the single thickness side. Thus there is no way to simply slide the TV along the rail a bit to center it where you want it without is being incredibly unlevel. This whole deal is really problematic.

After much wailing and gnashing of teeth and finding it impossible to level the TV, I found I needed to unbolt the WALL mount and slide that to center EXACTLY where I needed the TV. I was then able to place the inner of the two downward-opening Vs of each TV bracket on the very ends of the double-thick portion of the horizontal rail. This meant I have the outer of the downward Vs on each bracket hanging in thin air, but as this has safety screws, I figured this was adequate for my 15 pound TV. But, if I had needed to move the TV even 1/4-inch either way horizontally, I would have the double/single thickness problem for an entire bracket, and I would need to unbolt the WALL mount again and recenter THAT. This really isn't acceptable...

Now, if your TV mounting holes are greater than 200 mm horizontally, your TV mounting brackets will likely fall on outside of this patch area on the horizontal rail, and both brackets will likely sit properly and evenly on the rails. But remember that horizontal movement along the rail will be limited by the patch and you will have issues with leveling your TV if you move a bracket into the central double-thick zone.

As much as the bracket itself stinks for my 200mm mount, the included 10-foot long HDMI cable worked well, the screws/washers/nuts came nicely labeled, the level was level (and handy), and the instructions were clear.

So, if you have a 200mm mount TV, look elsewhere - there have to be better mounts than this. For other, wider TV mount spacings, this should work, but again, there must be better designs that don't have the limitations imposed by this central double-thick splice zone.

I would not recommend this mount as currently designed.

I was looking to center my 55" LG with VESA 400x400 on a 50" space (tv is 49" wide) between the curtains in my living room. The catch is that there's a stud dead center between the windows, with studs standard-spaced 16" to the left and right. I read dozens of reviews and some have said the mount won't span three studs (to ensure it's centered) and mounting it off-center wouldn't give enough space to slide the TV into the location it needs to be. Even with that in mind, I went ahead and ordered this, figuring I'd need to mount this with bolts to a stud, and buy toggle bolts or drywall screws to anchor the other end of the mount to the sheet rock.

Thankfully, I was able to mount this exactly as I wanted with only the parts included in the box. It is attached to two studs with 4 of the bolt provided and even included the screws needed to attach the tv to the mount. There are tons of extra parts with this mount. It even comes with drywall anchors if you need them.

To install, you will needs a stud finder, a ratchet and sockets (8mm and 13mm if I remember correctly), and a screwdriver.

The only downside is I couldn't figure out a tidy way to hide the release cords. They have cute little blue pawprints as pull-tabs, and three small velcro-like straps are included to help tie up cables in the back, but the pull cords are 16" apart on a 400x400 VESA so it was hard for me to secure them together. I ended up just sort of tucking them up and behind the tv.

Don't waste your time on this piece of junk. Because the horizontal bars come in two pieces held together by a joint at the center, it's very difficult to ensure that the joined bar is completely straight once assembled. While it might only be off by 1/8th of an inch, that's still enough to keep the catches at the bottom from locking correctly. I had to set my tv on the mount and then carefully reach behind with a long file to trigger the catches so that it will securely hold my TV to the wall.

I also take issue with the tilt adjustment and the "locking bars" that are supposed to keep the monitor from tilting. The locking bars kept falling out every time I'd try to put my monitor on the wall mount, and even when I finally got it in place, there's so much play in the tilt joints that the top of my display tilts out about 1.5" further than the bottom.

This thing will do the job for now, but I don't feel comfortable leaving even my 42" LCD on it for long. I plan to replace it as quickly as possible with something that has a solid welded frame.

I'm a professional installer and can't believe how many 5* reviews this horrible mount gets. The wall plate cones in 8 peices instead of the standard one piece solid plate. This is flimsy. The company expects us to put this ridiculous thing together with tiny screws, too small for even my small hands. Personally, I would rather give away a mount for free than install this one. If anyone buys this ridiculous thing after reading this, is on you. Good luck.

Update: The manufacturer clearly takes their business very serious. After posting this review they sent me a new solid mount. This mount corrected the problem I wrote about below. Often times when purchasing something online despite reading dozens of reviews the items just don't work for your specific needs. When a company stands behind their product though it makes the decision to recommend them easier. it also make the decision to buy other products from them in the future much easier.

These mounts are OK. I hung two smaller bedroom tv's with them. If I could do it over I would have chose a solid mount vs this which is a bunch of small pieces you assemble. Assembly is pretty easy. I hung one and to hit 2 studs I had to put the bolts pretty close to the inside of 2 holes. As I tightened the mount bent slightly. The force pushing in from the tight fit caused the middle joint where to two halfs connect to bend in. I could fix it by taking the tv down and moving the mount over a little. Naturally I would prefer if the mount was one solid piece so there was no joint to bend.
