They taught him how to play video games. He showed them how to survive! For California teenagers Ted Johnson (Keith Coogan, ADVENTURES IN BABYSITTING), and his sister Susan, a summer vacation in Africa turns into an incredible adventure and a struggle for survival! With their new friend, Morogo, a Masai tribal boy, they share an amazing, confusing, and funny cross-cultural friendship. Together they find an orphaned cheetah cub, "Duma," and raise her as a pet. But when Duma is stolen by corrupt gamblers, Ted and Susan set out alone across the uncharted wildnerness to find her. Their mission: a daring rescue. Their only ally: Morogo ... if he can find them! CHEETAH is a thrilling adventure about friendship, courage, and survival ... an unforgettable journey that will take you into the very heart of the African wilderness!

Cheetah is one of those movies that I wore the tape out on as a kid. It tugged my heartstrings with the poachers and racing schemes. But it also made me smile when I was shown that people *did* care about animals.

I was 8 when it first came out, and my mom made sure I had a copy the moment the tape came out. I played it all the time, along with The Last Unicorn, Labyrinth, and the old Shaggy Dog movies. She had to replace copies every so often, especially after a hurricane decimated my collection.

I'm so glad I have the chance to own this movie again. It makes finals week much easier to bear.

This was my absolute favorite movie when I was a child. I haven't seen it in years, though I know I have a worn out tape of it somewhere. I remember the cheetah was adorable and the story, while possibly being typical Disney fluff, was heartwarming. I'd definitely recommend it as a gift for any child who loves animals.

Another good family movie , about a brother & sister who have to move with their parents to AFRICA. Finding adventure and friends' turns out to be easy for these siblings. their new way of life becomes quickly challenged with POUCHERS , A NEW FRIEND , ALONG WITH A NEW FAMILY PET.The African landscape is gorgeous, And the wildlife is memorable for the whole family. My 7 year old granddaughter and even our 2 year old grandson sat through it , they even named their new kitten DUMA. DISNEY Movies are known for the animals , adventures, family, and locations in which the movie is filmed, this disney favorite is no different. For holiday gift giving with kids, this would be great if it isn't already 8n their dvd library. THANKS FOR READING, BYE.☺

I was a huge big cat lover as a kid and watched this every chance I got. I now have a niece who is 5 and in need of quality movies with some educational twist....and here it is. I am glad I can pass this on to her.

If you love cheetahs, you will love this movie. Just seeing a cheetah makes me feel relaxed. I can never get enough of seeing cheetahs on the screen (except of course when I go through my local Wildlife Safari--a drive through which includes seeing cheetahs). This is one movie I can watch over and over just to see the cheetah.

Two teenagers on their way back to America find a Cheetah cub that they raise as a pet. When the grown family pet mysteriously disappears, the search for the cheetah leads the family on exciting adventures across the African wilderness. A typical Disney wildlife adventure, the film captures the majesty of Africa and its wildlife that is itself disappearing...

This is a great family film. So nice to find films that don't leave you embarrassed to watch them with your kids. The kids do disobey their parents to save their cheetah, but all is well in the end. Might not have been such a good ending if it was real life.

This movie is straight out of the 80s, and pretty much every aspect of the movie shows it. It's not a bad movie, but you really need to be aware of what you are getting into when you order/watch this. Not bad, but not great either.
