Guilty Pleasures says: "It's a story of two very strong-willed people coming together, forming a bond and the little girl that is the glue that holds it all together."
Escape Reality with Books says: "Their working relationship starts with a bang and from there the sparks do not stop flying!"
Novels in Heels says: "An exceptional love story about two hurting souls who find each other in the most unexpected, entertaining and absorbing way."
Sarah Reads says: "This book really had it all for me. Sexual tension to drive me mad! A plot that unfolded beautifully as the characters discovered love and acceptance in someone as broken as they were."
Joy Pantorillo says: "I flove this book! Passionate French Chef + Sassy Heroine + Adorable Ma Belle Petite (Did I get that right Pierre?) = in Holly's words --- "Pop -- oh yeah, there goes my ovaries."

This is so much more than a second chance love story. This is a second chance at life story!
Yet another strong and feminine character joins the ranks of McHeyzer’s finery. Holly is going for this job to keep her mind occupied so she doesn’t drown in the depths of widowhood. She doesn’t lose any of her spark when Pierre comes along, if anything, she becomes stronger.
Pierre, he’s a tough one to take. He’s rude, he’s crude but he’s barely hanging onto life by a thread. He can’t feel anything. His trust in life has been abolished when he too became a widow. Maybe that’s why he’s so volatile – it’s the only way he can feel that he’s alive.
They are like two flints and sparks fly when they are near each other. The tension throughout this story does not stop. Pierre is unbelievably rude but that’s obviously his coping mechanism. I love the banter and dialogue between Holly and Pierre. They truly are equals and have a deep respect for each other as their time is spent together.
It’s a joy to read how they both learn to live again and the sex scenes are off the charts hot! The innocence of Holly’s daughter Emma is a delight. I love that she has no censorship and no filter. I’m with Pierre, fell in love with her too.
With every piece of Margaret’s work I read, I love her style more and more. Her complex storyline, there is the underlying love triangle. Pierre’s former wife has a big play within this book. Her part is beautifully written. I love the subtly she writes throughout her books where she references her other works. Always gives me a giggle.
McHeyzer has only entered my reading realm about three months ago and she’s an automatic buy now. This book did not disappoint. I hope you are as aghast with the ending as I was.

While I was shocked into an OMG state by McHeyzer's previous books, Monster Chef was more of a romantic comedy-drama about two people who have suffered losses in their personal lives and help each other to walk away from the "ghosts" of the dead and move forward to live and love again with great passion.
This book made me hungry...for food and lust and steamy, passionate sex with no holds barred. The descriptions of Master Chef Pierre's delectable dishes were mouth watering...as were the descriptions of his seduction of Holly...the new Maitre D' at his restaurant and the single mom who would completely turn his bossy world upside down.
So yes, I really enjoyed this book as a sweet romance with a few hilarious moments of verbal sparring (where the title Monster Chef comes from) and although there were a few diversions thrown in (an attack on Holly and some "passes" made by her boss), the main story was very tender, emotional and how life is never really "over" until you let go of the hurtful past and welcome in the future.

This book was GREAT. I really loved this book. As a single mom there are very few books out there that can write a book about a single mom and make it great. This book was definitely one of those books. I found myself falling in love with Pierre, Emma and Holly. I'm not going to hook into deep details because that will ruin the story. But let me say that this m book touched my heart and I am certain I will reread it again. Three characters were very well thought out and written. Some scenes were SCORCHING and some made you just want to cry. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this book to everybody!

This book had me an emotional wreck. It's a devastatingly beautiful creation of the brightness a second chance can bring to your life. Pierre is so rude at first you just want to slap him, and than he does a complete 360 and just amazes. Holly is such a strong woman with an amazing backbone and Emma is just the cutest thing you've ever read about. The romance, the devastation its all so strongly felt in this book, it'll have you in tears one chapter and giggling the next. And Pierre *sigh* I want a romantic Frenchman like him in my life.

Don't start reading this book in your lunch or when you have a limited reading timeframe, I couldn't put it down until I'd read to the end and neither will you.

Monster Chef by Margaret McHeyzer
5 Michelin stars!

Margaret McHeyzer never ceases to amaze me. Her writing just gets better and better with each book and dare I say that she's outdone even herself with Monster Chef?

This book is perfection. It has love, heartbreak, sex, humor and a precocious 7 year old girl. Honestly, you'll fall in love with the three main characters of this book. Pierre, with his ingrained French arrogance and his way around a deconstructed lemon meringue pie and Holly with her sassiness and refusal to back down. And absolutely Emma with her sweet, sweet childish disposition - for me she stole the show! The book had me laughing at times and left me with a lump in my throat at others. I felt so many emotions while reading Monster Chef and I just love that it had the ability to elicit so much from me. I don't hesitate to recommend this book and give it 5 out of 5 stars.
