I contacted Chefman about the product since it's still supposed to be under warranty. I got an immediate response apologizing for the product and guaranteeing that they would replace it. Fast forward a month, total silence. I've tried to contact them about the replacement twice and been completely ignored. I was ready to edit my review if they replaced it but at this point, I'm disgusted.
I chose Purple. It's a neutral deep tone purple, somewhat masculine.
Men will like the purple, as will women. The Purple is reminiscent of a plum tone
within a Milk Chocolate Hershey wrapper.
It's two speeds, it's 2 second clean up. Rinse and store.
I am using lots of Coconut Oil, butter etc.. this can be messy fun.
Fingerprints on the silicone casing, no worries, yes they are ample when cooking.
I wiped down the blender with good old white cleaning vinegar, all oily fingerprints
vamoose, gone, the matte silicone, squeaky clean once more.
It's simple to store. The full length is 15 inches.
The butt end / cord has a silicone loop, if you wish to hang it.
The immersible Stainless Steel portion is six inches, from where it connects
to the silicone, to the ledge bottom.
The width of the bottom, the opening of the cup is 3 inches.
Images show the blade, with coffee, my bad, the SS is not color altered.
The plug is two prong, the cord, I quick measured it with a tape, is 60 inches.
It's Matte, it's non-slip, It's body is 7 inches round in circumference.
So far I have used it with hot liquids, blending in butters, oils,
Butter, Coconut oil, Coffee, works like a charm, yes there is foam.
I have too used it: cool drinks with fine herbal powders, and chopped ice.
It's great, no powder flying, no burps. Go slow at first, a 2 min learning curve.
It works effortlessly within " wide mouth" Mason Jars, you
will have clearance, this is a perfect fit, both in length and width.
I tried both crushed ice and cube ice, from my fridge ice dispenser.
This handy dandy blender yes does chop ice, to smaller chips.
It works better with already crushed ice, if you do use full size cubes
it's use small quantities at a time, so it doesn't stress the motor.
Already crushed ice, it plows right through it, giving you Icey ice
(slushy ice) - um Yep, it's strong enough and then some.
This would be a great gift for a persons who makes their own baby food.
I am enjoying my Blender, I have used it several times, every day since it arrived.
I haven't put it away, I use it all the time. I highly recommend, it's great tool for everyone's kitchen.
And I was totally wrong.
I have only hand cleaned the shaft, and have done my best to keep water from even getting near the connection end, figuring that water getting in there wouldn't be the best idea, even though it says this is dishwasher safe. I've used it about 15 times, almost once a day.
I first wanted to try my hand at milkshakes, since we were in triple digit temps and just sweltering when this arrived. It made 2 milkshakes, from Breyer's brand ice-cream (sort of soft), but seemed like it was struggling on just a pair of "dollops", and I had to slowly (and messily) add the required ice-cream slowly, one more dollop at a time. It wasn't impressive, but it did what I asked, so I was going to keep it. But over the next couple of uses (scrambling eggs, mixing vinaigrette, small jobs like that), it started having troubles keeping it running continuously; no matter how hard I press the power button, it will stop running and I have to let go and re-press the power. Over and over and over...
But I was going to just accept it, it was pretty cheap after all. Even if I couldn't buy the blending and chopping cups, whisk or blade attachments, I've looked and looked and they don't actually seem to be available at the time of this review, at least, and the almost month before, when I first purchased the blender and started looking. Not even a listing for it with "Not in stock". I submitted a question, asking for a link to the bonus set, and never got a reply, which I thought sort of funny at the time, questions are a part of Customer Service, but hey, IT WAS PURPLE!
The straw that broke the camels back was when it started trying to "sing" to me after about the 10th use. At first it was just for a moment or two, but now it is pretty much a constant. It is coming from the shaft, which has started to get hot. And frankly, it can't carry a tune. See my little video to see the problem with the power button and to hear the wincing shriek that it now makes, constantly, if I use it. It also seems to be losing power. And while I didn't try it, I would be hard pressed to believe that this can effectively crush ice. Not being an ice using household, I can't test this, and tomorrow it is out of here...
I would only have given it only one star if I hadn't actually loved the color, body and style and whatnot. But I do. Unfortunately I'm not so shallow as to only be concerned with looks. I need adequate performance and this did not provide it and started to fail within the first month.
