Tripp needs a wife in order to get a loan from the bank. Sadie needs a place to live and purpose in her life after her parents are killed and the family bakery is lost. James and Suzanne bring them together as a "business arrangement" in order for Tripp's dreams can come true. Cindy Caldwell paints a beautiful story with her words. She is a natural storyteller. I am looking forward to more books to this series! A MUST READ!!!
After Sadie's parents were killed in an accident, she learns that they had mortgaged the family bakery and were past due to the point where the bank was repossessing it. On the last day of the bakery's being open, she receives a letter from her the husband of her identical twin sister inviting her to come to Arizona and to marry a friend of his who is a chef and wants to open a restaurant. Having no other real options, Sadie decides to follow through and go to Arizona where she meets her future husband, Tripp. It turns out what they really want is a business arrangement because the bank requires before Tripp can get a loan to open the restaurant, the bank requires he be married and that he and his wife be the only people working the restaurant until they turn a profit for a full month. After that, they can then hire people to help out. It also turns out that Tripp is a bit of a control freak when it comes to his restaurant.
Can Sadie and Tripp make the restaurant a go? Can they move their marriage from a business arrangement to something more? When Sadie discovers that the restaurant is failing, will she be able to convince Tripp to make the changes necessary to make it a success or will his stubbornness get in the way of their success?
The book did not feel rushed at all and when done reading you feel like you read longer than you actually did. I thoroughly enjoyed reading the book and immediately went searching for the next book that came after it. If you like mail-order bride novels or short (less than a 3 hour read), then this is good author to pick up and read.
