I have done some enlightening travels in several continents, where I always try to take advantage of cooking opportunities and lessons whenever possible. A decent number of the recipes in this book come from ideas gathered while traveling. Some of the others come from ideas gathered while traveling in my mind, through films, documentaries, books, and talking to and cooking with intriguing people from other places.
I love to read about cooking, but writing about it myself seems pretentious. I hope you will find my simultaneously enthusiastic yet flippant and disgruntled manner unobtrusive to your enjoyment.
