Difficult to get out of crevices/messy

This is most likely being used by children that need some work on their brushing habits. It can be a great tool for that, but some things to consider first:

1) It can be messy. Once inserted into the mouth, you chew it up like a Flintstones vitamin--tastes similar. Everything in your mouth turns dark purple. You will need to spit the excess into the sink once entire mouth is coated (this can be a challenge depending on age). Depending on your child's motor skills, purple splatter can end up on the counter, walls, floor, and on them (it will obviously be in the sink). So keep that in mind.

2) An entire tablet may not be needed depending upon age of person using it--my son is 8 and I could probably get away with using only half at a time.

3) If the person using it has deep crevices in their teeth, they may not be able to get it all out in one brushing. This results in in dissolving slowly and keeping a light pinkish/purple hue in your mouth. My husband and I both tried brushing out bits that were stuck in the crevices of our son's teeth, as well as in between his teeth, and were unable to do so completely. For this reason, I recommend only using at night.

For these reasons, I don't recommend using frequently unless you feel absolutely necessary, and recommend monitoring children using these tablets.

This is supposed to show you where the plaque is in your teeth. I'll say that my 8 year old loved these and thought they were fun, but I just thought it was a giant mess in your mouth. Everything was purple, and I'm quite sure my mouth isn't 100% plaque. Maybe I was doing something wrong, but I didn't see the value in this at all, except that it made my daughter happy, and I was happy to see her brush until it was all gone!

I bought these as my 5 year old teeth brushing skills leave a lot to be desired some mornings and I thought they would be a good way of showing him where he's missing. I stupidly decided to ignore all the reviews and use them before school one morning. Everything was purple. The sink was purple, his teeth were purple, his face and hands were purple and his school jumper and tshirt were purple. It was an interesting morning explaining to my son's teacher why he looked like Veruca Salt. These are definitely not a good idea for school mornings! They definitely stain your skin for a while. I did get the purple off his clothes as I chucked them in the washing machine with some vanish gold pretty much straight away.

Unlike some other reviewers we did see the colour change to the pink/red colour on a few parts of his mouth but we've seen a lot less of this as his brushing has improved.

It does the purple thing where is stains the part of the teeth that you missed when brushing. You can get the stain off quite easily with another brush on the trouble areas, but simple rinsing WON'T remove them.

It will also stain your tongue and anything else with a dark purple so I would recommend to do this before getting dressed in your work/school clothe.

It's quite hard to get the stain on the tongue off with your tooth brush so I'd recommend to not use this if you need to see dentist/mouth piecing activities right after if that bothers you.

Well these just dye your whole mouth, tongue, sink, lips, skin bright purple and they taste foul. In my opinion they don’t work. I used 1 tablet and then the packet went in the bin.
