This was the longest snoozefest about a whiny, accident prone, wishy-washy girl and three hunky over-protective, not-so-bright guys. After reading it, I'm still not sure who they all are or where they're from because they never give you any concrete information. Everything is shrouded in this big mystery and the three hunks treat the girl like a little baby. They don't tell her anything about anything, hence the reader doesn't learn anything either. I kept reading hoping Cheyenne would stop alternating between whining and crying or stomping off mad having a tantrum. One of the things that really bothered me was that she couldn't seem to decide which guy she liked so she kept going back and forth between the two of them. She'd be kissing one today and kissing the other one tomorrow. She acted so stupid and naive that I started to really dislike her. Her adoptive father was supposed to have educated her so well but obviously, he didn't tell her anything about men. I was just SO fed up by the time I got to the end that I immediately took it off my kindle, and I WILL NOT be reading anything else by this author. The only good thing I can say about it is that grammatically, it is correctly written and easy to read...not alot of typos. I just wish it were actually worth reading; seriously, don't waste your time.

This is one of the most annoying books I have read in a while. The female character doesn't have a brain in her head, and if she did she'd take it out and play with it. She's either sobbing all the time or mooning over three losers who manhandle her and talk down to her, all after kidnapping her. They treat her like an imbecile, all for her "protection". They are domineering and overpowering and she seriously needs some hormone therapy because she pants like a dog in heat every time they look her way. No, I didn't finish this travesty. I'd rather read the encylopedia. Thank heaven I didn't pay for this on my Kindle, because I'd be asking for my money back.

I bought this book after reading all the great reviews it got, and this book was in the Fantasy section. Also the sample was promissing. But suddenly the story sotopped developing and everything turned to a romance novel and the main character starts to behave really, really, really annoyingly.

So maybe if you are a thirteen year old girl looking for a romance novel, this can satisfy your needs, but if you are looking for a fantasy book, stay away from this one.

Let me start by saying that I think this Author has talent and potential. This book however, is just frustrating and annoying! The way the guys are constantly touching Cheyenne and putting their arms around her and pulling her on top of their laps was like I said annoying. I found myself so frustrated with all the over the top touching that I would have to step away from my kindle A LOT!! The main character was a helpless twit who did not seem to listen or learn from her mistakes. The back story was never developed and confusing! This is one book I hope there is not a sequel too!

I ordered this on my kindle and only paid $2.99. That was $2.99 too much. This is not written for an adult reader. This is written for a middle school reader. The heroine whined and complained and acted like a middle school student through the whole book. This is the first of a series? It is the last of the series for me. Very poor and not worth the effort. It does not get better, in fact, it gets worse and worse until by the ending (thank goodness) I could have cared less what happened to any of the characters. Very bad.

Some books for free are amazing, this one was not even worth "free". The lead character was said to be 19 and described as fiesty, but was written to be whiney, petulant and stupid. The kissing parts were over written, over used, and did not advance the story line. Hard to point out the most irritating part, but a major factor for the one star rating is that the story isn't a stand alone story. It drags on and on, and doesn't end--I presume until the entire series is written. Not worth getting started on.

The cover art it beautiful, but the description is what convinced me to get this book. The characters are well developed allowing the reader to get lost in the story (completely losing track of time). I've marked the release date of the second book on my calendar so I can buy it the day it comes out.

I got this ebook free on Amazon, and I had high hopes for it because of the glowing reviews both here and on Amazon. I really wanted to like this book, but had a hard time getting all the way through it.

Cheyenne is a girl just coming into womanhood, trapped between two worlds. On the one hand, there is her childhood love, a man connecting her to her past life and her now passed on adoptive parents. On the other hand, there is her love's brother, and the world she knows nothing about, but in which she discovers she has a predetermined role to fulfill.

This story, particularly the backstory, has so much potential to be great. Unfortunately I find this book to fall quite short in a number of ways. Had the storyline been more action, more suspense from the actual backstory, and less angsty teenage emo ramblings, there really could have been something here. Sadly, this book is a prime example of "show me, don't tell me". Cheyenne spends half the novel telling us how she and the other characters feel, instead of letting their actions show us what is going on.

I appreciate that Ms. Wiedmeier is trying to create a strong female heroine for her stories, but again I wish that this were shown through the text, instead of us just being told that she can take care of herself. Yes, there are a couple of bright spots in the book where Cheyenne proves to us how capable she is of caring for herself, but unfortunately more often than not she is left standing alone, crying for her protectors to come and save her.

I will be looking into further books by Ms. Wiedmeier and I have great hope that, as she grows as an author, she will find her voice and be able to tell her wonderful stories with the beauty that occasionally erupts in the book Cheyenne.
