looking forward to summer time! i also posted some user pics with measurements. i'll revise this review after we are able to really use it.
We gave this to our youngest son for his 2nd birthday. He was riding w/in weeks. Our older son started on a wooden pedal-less bike at age 3, but this bike is a little smaller so we could start with our younger son a bit earlier. We basically skipped the trike entirely. This meant that he could keep up with his older brother - whatever his big brother does he can do.
Our youngest is almost 4 now and has not had any trouble transitioning to a pedal bike w/ training wheels. His older brother was off training wheels at this point, but considering the younger one never even learned how to pedal a tricycle, we expected his transition to a pedal bike to come a little later. It has come later, but it has been quick and painless. It's so much easier to teach a 3.5yr old that has been on a balance bike to pedal on training wheels than it is to teach a 2yr old to pedal a trike.
Only possible downside to this bike is that kids will grow out of it quickly b/c it's so small, but if they get it young, it will last just fine. Others complained about not being able to replace the tires (they are not inflatable), but they have lasted fine for us (kept in a garage).
Hope this is as great for your family as it has been for ours.
