Founded by Shelby Taylor in 2015, Chickapea was created to provide a nutritious, convenient and familiar meal option to families dealing with time constraints, picky eaters, allergies and health issues.

Gluten Free pasta is never great tasting!

Been eating gluten free for 8 years and these are comparable in texture and flavor to many other pastas I have tried. Not great. However if you have a great sauce this is the best way to go. These are Organic with no added ingredients to increase carbs, or other emptry calories(rice, tapioca,peas). These are safest to eat in terms of glycemic index. However if you are also looking to avoid FODMAPs, the chickpeas may cause some digestive issues. The soluable versus insoluble fiber ratio may also cause some problems for IBS sufferers. Just take with your Heather’s Organic (Acacia) Tummy Fiber and you should be ok.

I’m changing my review on this. I made these again tonight after the last batch being mushy and weird, and I was careful to 1) salt the water well since there’s no salt 2) NOT overcook and not stir too hard 3) add flavorful sauce. I went against the natural thing and used velveeta cheese and a pat of butter to recreate Mac and cheese. The kids went for it and it really was pretty good.

We have recommended these to my mom, who now uses them regularly.
