I bought this for my son because he has been having a really hard time at school recently. Kids can be so mean. I remember reading these as a teenager and was very pleased that they still had them around and have even expanded beyond what i remember. My son will read a story that really touches him and come and talk to me about it. I think it helps him to see that he is not the only one that is having a hard time right now. And i hope that it makes him more compassionate to those around him as well since the stories involve a variety of kids involving different circumstances.

I ordered this for my 12 yr old son who just moved school districts. Going through the book I can only see ONE story written by a male. Maybe there are a few others I missed, but the vast majority are written by females. That doesnt help a boy relate. This should be sold as a femal preteen book. Really disappointed.

I bought this for my son who is almost 11. He's had a history of getting bullied at school quite a bit and has put up a hard shell exterior to 'protect' himself. I was hoping this book would have some stories in it to help him deal with this. I didn't know if he'd read it so I told him we could read it together, one or two stories at a time at night. We did that for a few days. One day he told me he'd finished the book. He just kept reading it. He does love to read. He said it made him feel good that he wasn't the only kid to be going through this stuff. He seemed lighter afterward. Now he wants to read the teen book I got for his older brother. I think this book made tween life just a little more bearable for my son. That is so worth it. And, he can read it over and over again as he feels he needs it.

This is a birthday gift for my granddaughter who will be turning 11 in a few days. I looked through this book and I think she will be very pleased with it. She is getting into that stage when peer pressure is becoming more important to her, and since she will be entering middle school in the fall, perhaps she will feel a little more at ease reading the stories in this book..

My preteen son enjoys reading this book. The stories are things that can relate to. It’s a wonderful book for preteens because these are trials, challenges and pressures that they encounter on a daily basis.

Content of this series is consistently good. Would have been nice if the paper quality was a bit better. The print shows up behind the page. Hope this book lasts!
