The bags are great, but the fabric is crunchier now

I bought my first set of these bags in 2015 and loved them. After 8 years, I've lost one (only one! the carabiners and attached pouches are great) and another started developing holes, so I bought a new set. The new bags are the same size, shape, & colors, but the fabric is a bit stiffer and rustles more. I find it unpleasant. It's not the worst recycled fabric I've ever felt, but I prefer the original fabric; a friend with sensory issues outright hates the new stuff.

The new fabric might be sturdier, but since the old fabric lasted 8+ years of abuse, I think it was durable enough. I'd like the option to buy the Original ChicoBag Original.

The Chico bag is also the right size for my grocery shopping needs. These are Roomy but a bigger bag would be too heavy for me when loaded. And with all the colors - I always know where my eggs are.

So here's what I like about these: You can keep one in your purse at all times in case you go into a store for something or need to bag up a to-go package at a restaurant, and it takes up very little space in the bottom of your purse. The rest of these bags stay on the passenger seat of my car for when I'm doing larger grocery runs. I used to have a big collection of reusable bags in the back of my car -- of all shapes and sizes -- and it was really messy. I have to say this is SO much more convenient (and neat). Plus they are durable and hold a lot; I do some pretty big grocery runs and have yet to use every single bag. Grocery baggers always compliment me on them, too!

I got these to replace one I lost that I’d gotten as a freebie years ago. I never realized then how useful they were or I’d have gotten two.

With the clip, it is easy to hang on a backpack or messenger bag and not think about until you need it. But when you do need a grocery-bag sized tote, it unfolds to become a sturdy little bag. When you don’t need it anymore you can just fold it back up into its integrated carry sack and hang it back where you had it.

Washing is easy too, but you need to unhook the carabiner before you throw it into the laundry. Once clean and dry, hook the carabiner back on and you are good to go.

These bags are great love the clip feature and how the small bag is sewed into it so you don’t lose it. Only down side is price.

While waiting for our city (Pittsburgh) to go plastic bag free, I am trying to make our household a plastic bag free home. I keep ChicoBags in our cars as a convenient way to ditch the plastic. We purchased two sizes of Chicos: this 'tote' style bag and the traditional shopping bag size. I prefer the tote over these 'shopping bag' Chicos due to the longer strap because I like to be able to throw the bag over my shoulder. All of the ChicoBags have been great quality, from my experience. An added bonus is that their storage bags are connected, so you don't have to worry about misplacing them like you do with some other brands of reusable bags.

One more tip that a friend of mine uses to simplify his life that I thought was nifty: he keeps an empty laundry basket in the trunk of his car. He then uses it to carry all of his full Chico bags into the house so that he can carry more stuff in one trip and not have ten bags swinging from each arm like we all do. :) Hope this product helps some of you making the switch from Plastic to Green! :)

I own a few older Chico bags and was hoping these were similar but true to some of the other reviews they are definitely smaller. They are solid bags but I miss the other size.
