I like Beverly Lewis' books - I can't say I've read every one of them...but I've read a lot of them. But to see a book that is a mystery - along with having "plain" people in it...well done.
The storyline is easy to follow - one woman has been looking for her daughter for over 8 years. Her daughter had been sold to an adoption "ring" by the woman's husband - who died shortly afterwards from an overdose. She's been searching for her daughter for years....thanks to some folks who are helping her with her expenses.
I won't say more because the story has so much more "meat" to it than that.
The story was fulfilling and the lead-up to the ending was not rushed and so when the ending came...it felt right. I had closure. While I would love to see a sequel - the fact is that I can put this book down and be content that the ending picked up all the loose ends and knit them together successfully.
I would like to see more books by this husband and wife team because while they are definitely different from the ones Beverly writes alone...they have a lot of depth to them and bring in another perspective simply from having a second writer.
Thanks for a great read! I will keep my eyes open for more books from you both!

the story of Kelly Maines and Jack Livingstone
Bestselling Author Duo Delivers Heart-Stirring Drama
Jack Livingston has been raising his nine-year-old adopted niece, Natalie, since the accident that took her parents' lives. While he travels for work, Natalie is lovingly cared for by Laura Mast, an Amish nanny who loves her as her own.
Kelly Maines is nearing the end of her rope. Her baby was kidnapped, the apparent victim of a black market adoption ring, and for eight years, Kelly has tirelessly pursued every lead to its bitter end. Now, there's one last lead from a private investigator: Just a few miles away lives a girl who matches the profile. Could this, at long last, be her beloved child?
Desperately, Kelly initiates a "chance" meeting with Jack Livingston. It goes really well. So well, in fact, that Jack asks her out. One date leads to another, and before she can come clean with her original motives, Kelly realizes Jack is falling for her--and she for him.
Now how can she tell Jack why she's really here? And having gotten to know Natalie, what if she isn't her long-lost daughter, after all? This was all supposed to be so simple.
But nothing in Natalie's world is simple.
Can this be Kelly's beloved daughter?
where does Kelly find here daughter?
can Jack risk his heart with Kelly ?
Will Jack and Kelly be more than friends?
who is Natalie's biological mother?
Child of Mine is a wonderful well written 5 stars book.
I am looking forward to reading more books by Beverly Lewis and David Lewis.

The Love Letters
The adoption of one of the key figures in this novel is a legal adoption. There wasn't an open adoption in that the little girl didn't know who her real mother was.
This journey that we followed with Kelly, who's child had been kidnapped and sold on the black market, is riveting. The pain that Kelly goes through tears at your heart. Along the journey, Kelly finds a wonderful man who happens to have an adopted daughter.
The twists and turns that this novel takes is real page turning reading! I found that I couldn't stop reading even though I was tired!! I really appreciate that this wasn't a run of the mill story line! I strongly recommend this book but with a warning; you might not be able to stop reading!
