I gave this book 5 stars since rather than focusing on other peoples issues that simply were not relevant to my own children being taken, it focused on the systemic problems the system faces, as well as the obvious injustices. It seems to me that if the system was fixed or replaced, and independence was given to it, it would not be a problem as it is now.
I highly recommend this book for anyone whose children have been taken. It was also written in 2014 so is very up to date, and doesn't just discuss US issues but also issues globally. Very important in countries such as here in Australia, where there is no Bill of Rights, so when the Government get power without responsibility, they effectively trample the rights of individuals in a very bad way, with no easy constitutional legal remedy.
The system needs urgently fixing, and now, before more husbands and wives commit suicide. The emotional stress of having your family abducted is extremely intense, as is that of being treated as a criminal when you are clearly not one.
Its obvious that many of these agencies deliberately introduce negative bias, are non scientific, and clearly not interested in Truth. If there were interested in families, they would want to know what really happened, and how if necessary to fix the problem, but at present they don't. More families need to read this book BEFORE it happens to them. If only I had known, I would not have sent my child to a government psychologist, not talked to a Government Social worker. And Government schools with their in house social workers and psychologists are now becoming a huge problem for parents. In some countries this is not as bad in Primary schools, mainly high schools. Parents are being undermined with the United Nations Convention of the Rights of the Child, which depending on how they are implemented in the state you live in, can prove disastrous for both families and policy makers alike. Absolute power, without absolute responsibility is a dangerous thing indeed.
I highly recommend this book for anyone wishing to protect their family from a very insidious threat, that is more important that all the financial planning or career advice in the world. This book is GOLD, and it could save you or a friends life or entire family from destruction, you can't put a price on that.

As a grandparent of three children who were stolen and sold by Jackson Co Ga DCF and researcher and advocate for parents who have their children stolen this is an excellent resource. Any one who is fighting DCF and have lost their children need this book for so many reasons. It is to late for my granddaughters as they were sold to the highest bidder five years ago. The corruption and collusion is past epidemic- there are no controls the corruption is sickening. They have to be stopped.

EVERY PERSON SHOULD READ THIS BOOK. YOU may never think DSS (social services) are in your life, but BEWARE this can happen to innocent families, (like ours). Prepare yourselves. Read this book and then let everyone you know about it. Never think this can't happen to you or someone you know. EXCELLENT BOOK.....

I know from experience this is the attitude you need to deal with CPS. Great tool for parents dealing with this confusion.
