Children of Time: Evolution and the Human Story" by Anne Weaver is one of the best books about evolution for young people that I have ever read. Combining very accurate information about our ancestors with delightful stories, and Matt Celeskey's marvelous illustrations, make this a book I would recommend to all readers who are interested in Pre-history.

You have done a wonderful job of bringing the world of past humans to children through this book." (Erik Trinkaus, Ph.D. author of In Search of the Neandertals.)
Anne Weaver is a professional paleoanthropologist who also happens to write great science books for children. This book has scientific integrity and should excite the imaginations of young adventurers everywhere!

"I think that "Children of Time" is a splendid way of learning about ancient hominins. These different stories are within the eyes of children. Since it is in the eyes of children it helped me understand what they were saying better.....because very few kids understand what adults say. Also, these stories are made up from the knowledge of what scientists have found and studied over many years. The stories that they tell in this book help us understand the predictions paleoanthropologists made about how the ancient hominins might have lived and died."
