The illustrations are simple, colorful and do an especially good job of depicting the emotions of family members giving the reader the impression that they are already our good friends. In addition, there is the bonus of learning a few things about touring in Washington, DC. I think that children age six and younger will especially enjoy this adventure; Abey's funny antics and his close-knit family make it a book that families will want to share with one another.
'site-seeing' with 4-year old Abey and check out all the amazing landmarks in Washington D. C.
After walking around the park for hours, the little lad runs ahead of the family and ends up in a reflecting pool next to the World War II Memorial. Why did he jump into the pool?
See what happens when a policewoman stands at the edge of the pool, blowing her whistle repeatedly, while Dad is shouting to the top of his voice for Abey to get out of pool and join the family to continue their adventure.
Great story by Mark Eichler. Highly recommended.
Mark Eichler, in another delightful story, tells the tale of little 4 year old Abey, whose parents take him and his siblings to tour Washington D.C. Parents and children alike will laugh as they discover where Abey and his Dad end up!
With colorful and inviting illustrations, kids of all ages will enjoy reading this book with their parents. Kids will identify with Abey and parents will be reminded that a sense of humor is a parent's most important asset!
