Not Worth The Price

The good:
My grandson loved the colors. He does not have the handling of the mouse down yet, but the mouse fits his hands well. Everything works well when plugged into a Windows 7 and can work with two mice and keyboards plugged into at the same time.

The average:
The keyboard is a typical plastic build and both the mouse and keyboard feel a bit on the flimsy side.

The bad:
While the colors are vibrant and eye-catching for our 4 year old, the choice of yellow keys with white printing is a terrible move. Simply stated you cannot read the characters on the yellow keys. At this time we are not worried about the punctuation etc. so we will make do, but what a terrible decision.

An attractive choice for young children

There is no doubt that the colors of the keyboard are attractive to children. The mouse is also the right size for little hands. However there are two things that could be improved on it. The mouse has a sticky surface to it that collects all the dirt from little hands. I think it was to help a child hold the position of the mouse but it doesn't help. The other thing is that for older children who may be using it for the keyboard punctuation, the white labels don't show up on the yellow keys. Those keys should be imprinted in black or should be a dark color so that the white shows up. Last, the keyboard doesn't have any feet at the bottom back to angle it up. This means that the whole thing is always completely flat. For children learning proper keyboarding, that is uncomfortable. All in all I think all you get for the money is a colored regular keyboard with a colored small mouse.
It does draw children to the computer but they know what the computer itself can do and that attracts them already. If you are trying to create a child-centered fun environment it is fitting and it's not too expensive but I'm not sure it's worth the extra cost over the same things in black.

This set looked like it would be kind of fun because of the primary colors.

The FunKeyBoard & FunMouse Bundle also includes the tiny optical FunMouse, which is sized just right for a child's small hands."

While the educational aspect slight, it is interesting, and a fine idea. The little mouse is small, and child sized. That, is about it.

The online picture is very misleading. It shows the mouse and keyboard out of scale to each other. The keyboard is a full sized extended keyboard. Not at all scaled down for small hands. I use Macs, and have not had much trouble with using keyboards and mice designed for a pc. Even with the difference in the key assignments, because they can be changed in keyboard preferences. All Mac keyboards have two mouse ports. One on either side for left or right handed mouse use. With this set you need two usb ports. one for the keyboard, one for the mouse.
I have three Macs, running Mac OS 10.3.9, 10.4, and,10.6. The three button mouse does function as it should on all three, but on all three the cursor drifts when the mouse is at rest.

Although I received the set the day after I placed the order, it was not subject to the "over $25 super saver free shipping".

I just happen to live close to DataVision where this set was shipped from. Even though I saved the return postage, a "15% restocking fee" was deducted from my refund.

Great Keyboard/gouey mouse!

I searched for a friendly keyboard for my kids.
THE GOOD:
This one has the closest keyboard to a regular one. I did not want to keep changing it out if my kids were on the computer. It has all the traditional keys, and is the same size as a regular one. Colorful, and fun.
Plugged in and worked with total ease.
The mouse is a great size for smaller hands
THE BAD:
The mouse had a terrrrrible sticky glue allll over it. I almost returned it, but my husband used 'Simple Green' cleaner, and a lot of work, to get it usable. Weird! (I even found out later on some reviews...I may not have bought it!)
(I didn't want to give up on it because it was so perfect for my little ones! Glad I got it, but hated having to clean a brand new item that you just purchased!

mouse too small for seven year old

The age recommended for this product is 5 years and up. I would say that it is only good for five year olds in that case, because for my seven year old daughter, the mouse is very small in her hand. It is functional, and I like the color coded keys and how bright and happy it looks, but wish it came with optional mouse sizes or something.

A simple, inexpensive mouse/keyboard combo. Perfect for kids, that way they can use and abuse this input device instead of your good ones. I have a complaint, though - the mouse arrived completely sticky all over the top decal area. I had to take some Goo Gone to it and scrub the adhesive off. I'm sure it was left over from the decal application process, but it never should have made it in the box like that.

I am a Licenced day-care provider. I ordered this product to use in home along with learning programs for the children I care for daily. These children range in age from 15 months to 10 years of age.
The older children have reveled in self confidence at the ability to be able to easily find and use things on there own, such as the number pad, the vowels, and the punctuation keys. The younger children are learning quite well and love how colorful this keyboard is. Another positive thing about this set is the mouse. It is very easy to use, and made for the child's hand size. The movements of the mouse made by the child flow smoothly with that of the mouse shown on screen. There is no wheel in the mouse, only the left and right clicker, keeping things simple for the child.
I can't say enough about how excited I was to receive and use this product. Thank you chester creek!
