Santa Barbara Chili Rosater CR-BARBACOA-1 5 Burner Hatch Chile Roaster Propane Roaster Drum & Regulator. CRBBQ-CR La Barbacoa propane gas chili roaster features a large 30 inch by 12 inch detachable Teflon coated stainless steel roasting drum. The barrel is in turn on an attractive black powder coated stout steel support frame with an easy-to-operate drum door. The food grade stainless steel mesh is coated with teflon for non stick use and will last many chili seasons. The La Barbacoa's 5 burners are evenly spaced to ensure that the chiles or veggies are evenly scorched. The roaster comes in at a weight of about 38 pounds. La Barbacoa propane gas chili roaster can be used on a tabletop. These roasters are great for roasting chiles but are also perfect for roasting all sorts of vegetables such as corn, bell peppers, squash, and anything else that needs to be roasted. If roasting coffee or other small items a smaller mesh screen should be used. While it could be operated safely indoors we do not recommend it.

This product DOES NOT WORK as represented, IT'S A SCAM. The flames are yellow, sooty and weak rather than strong and blue. The door mechanism is weak and cheesy and hard to operate. The screen could be slightly smaller for smaller items....I had to place a smaller screen around the existing one. The company never responded to my concerns that the flames were weak and sooty. For the money, the product should work as represented....IT DOES NOT WORK! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! I wasted $250 and NEVER heard back from the company.

Good roasting basket, bad regulator

The basket is great for roasting chili, but I believe there is a flaw in the design of the regulator. I was not able to get a blue flame. The airflow regulator was placed immediately next to the propane regulator. I think it would work better if the airflow regulator was placed on the other end of the hose, right next to the basket where the flames are generated. In any other burner product, the air adjustment is close to the flame. (for example, a Bunsen burner). I liked the basket, though, and am using it over a heavy duty outdoor stove that my husband uses for brewing beer. It roasts the chili well over those strong, blue flames.

This chile roaster is AWESOME! We were able to do about 15 lbs at a time, and although it seemed to take a little while to roast the chiles, the end result was fantastic! Also, while it is true, there were no instructions, my husband had the regulator on within a matter of minutes. The roaster is very good quality, and durable. I would definitely purchase again, and would also refer to all friends!

Wife and I were able to evenly roast an entire gunny sack of green chilies in about 45 minutes with no burned watering eyes and burned fingers like we have had when trying them on the grill.
