- Reviewed in the United States on December 8, 2013This book is written for a young reader in mind, but all ages can benefit from the wisdom and nutritional knowledge of this very talented author. I am happy that Aimee E Raupp has an office in NYC. If I ever get the time from a very busy schedule, I would love to make an appointment to see Aimee for a personal consultation. Her advice concerning everyday nutrition and developing healthy eatinghabits is well-received, and she lists specific foods to indulge and stay away from! She even includes advice on selecting skincare products and cosmetics, a favorite subject of mine!!
- Reviewed in the United States on September 6, 2009I gave this book 4 stars for 2 reasons. 1, I feel like the author tries a little too hard to connect to her female audience and it's a bit of a turn off. She constantly uses phrases like 'Girl', 'Let's go Ladies', and on one page, she used the phrase 'Come on girls' three times. It's just a bit too much. 2nd, I don't like the fact that she promotes eating meat over being vegetarian. It's completely possible to get all your necessary nutrients without eating meat. In fact, it's healthier. Plus, I feel that she contradicts herself when she talks about eating a 'nondead' diet, but isn't meat from a slaughtered, dead animal?
Overall, she offers a lot of good information that is straightforward. I recommend reading it, but keep an open mind. Don't let it sway you too much if you're committed to not eating meat.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 25, 2013This book is great for any woman wanting to eat healthy, and live a healthy lifestyle. Aimee gives clear nutritional advice with the research to back it up. Also, really love her writing style. This book is worth way more than you will pay for it. Buy it now!!
- Reviewed in the United States on June 10, 2013I have read a ton of health and wellness books after taking Clomid to get pregnant two years ago and having a horrible reaction to the drug. I went from running a marathon in October to not being able to walk a mile in December. If I had picked this book up 2 years ago, I would have learned so much in one sitting and been ahead of the game now. Thank you for this book as I have learned so much. Also, I like the author's voice. The book takes tough topics and lightens the message a bit by using humor and a sassy voice. It all worked for me. Again, thanks to the author for taking the time to write this book.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 2, 2017This is a pretty good book to start the year off with. It's full of suggestions and advice on how to detox the body and get into a healthier frame of mind. It's geared towards single women in their twenties and thirties. There is a lot of "you go girl!" attitude in the writing style. There is also an entire chapter on fertility, but no mention of what happens during menopause. The last part of the book repeats a lot of information and feels like an advertising section for various supplements and teas.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 7, 2015Great book that gets to the core of living a happy, healthy life. While society now raises women not to eat, sleep, or relax, Aimee clarifies exactly what it takes to feel our best, in a simple and entertaining manner every woman can appreciate.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 21, 2011Overall I enjoyed the book. The information was repeated several times throughout various chapters but you could see how connected the various body systems are. I got extremely tired of the "Girl" comments and the "$#@(*$#" explicits. It took away from the professionalism of the writing. However, that aside, I especially liked the food suggestions she gives you and information on eating more healthily for our bodies. Finally! Someone who's proclaiming soy and isolates we eat in the US are not good for us! I like her focus on women's health coming from the inside out. What we put in is what we put out. She goes into a few different skin types for beauty regimens, which I appreciated. I read the book twice and have started incorporating some suggestions in my daily life. Glad I purchased the book!
- Reviewed in the United States on September 4, 2012Don't let the "girl talk" vibe to the book overshadow the message and information. I've been through a lot of health issues and this book really has excellent information, especially for someone just becoming more health conscious. I've recommended to other friends, who've also liked it and have been able to benefit.
