I love that the series is set in a small town in England. It was fun to be pulled into the many "English-ims" which are foreign to us in the U. S, whether it was the foods they enjoyed, the roads they drove on (the A roads, etc), or the differences in the common language we share, etc. Some things remain the same no matter where one lives, homeless people, murders, thefts, but also beauty, flowers, and friendship, with some romance thrown in. I appreciate also that even though all of the aforementioned do occur in these stories, they are covered with care and a delicacy that doesn't degrade into gore, horror, or eroticism. One doesn't have to grovel in the dirt to know it exists.
All in all, a fine series with this latest book being another interesting, entertaining, visit with "friends". And now I know what the "London Eye" is!
Well written story filled with plenty of twists & turns. A great way to continue the mysteries in Peridale with Barker & Julia.
