Why isn’t this a TV show yet? Another fun romp with Kurt West and the usual cast of characters through the hidden alien underworld in Chapel Hill NC. The culinary and brewery tour around NC is almost as fun as solving the mystery. This is one book I couldn’t put down until finished. Now to go find some of that Gizmo beer…
The best of the Beowulf Chronicles so far. If you love chocolate, guns, and aliens, this is the book for you. A little bit of mystery, a little bit of danger, a little bit of comedy, and a whole lot of fun, Rhett Bigler delivers another great read with bounty hunter Kurt West racing against the clock to track down some chocolate-loving aliens who have gone a series of heists at chocolate shops. If you haven't read any of Bigler's urban sci-fi books, I highly recommend you get stuck in.
The third installment in the Beowulf Chronicles delivers everything fans of this lighthearted sci-fi crime series have come to expect—Kurt West, ex-Marine and official “tourist hunter,” has a case, a problem, a lot of omelet-gobbling, mocha-drinking lizards that may or may not be as much help as he hoped, and a deadline. This book delivered many familiar characters and some unexpected twists. It also filled in some welcome details about the alien world that, due to a twist of space-time, sits largely undetected in the middle of Chapel Hill, North Carolina. I can’t wait for the next book!
Duo Kurt West and Papa Bear romp around Chapel Hill and the drift trying to solve the latest mystery - thieves who have stolen expensive chocolate! If you havent read anything from the Beowolf Series, you dont know what you are missing with this genre mash up of comedy / mystery / alien / detective.
This book is perhaps the most polished of the three. And I really cant wait for the next one.
The book was simply fun to read. The plot was well formed and kept me guessing during the whole read. I really like the characters as there are a myriad of different types with real personalities. I love the bantering between the characters the most as it really brings them to life! Rhett has delivered a great book that is thoroughly enjoyable! I recommend this as well as the 1st and 2nd books in the series!
Loved it! The third book in this series did not disappoint. I'm so glad I stepped out of my comfort zone to read these books- I've always shied away from sci-fi novels because I just didn't think they were my "thing". But I was pleasantly surprised that while there is a theme of sci-fi present throughout the books, at their core, the Beowulf Chronicles are crime-solving novels, with a hint of comedy & a touch of romance. It's a perfect balance of "alien" & crime novel. I definitely recommend this book!
Rhett does it again. An artful blend of humor, suspense, whodunit, and a twist you did not see coming at the end. His recipe includes imaginative characters, interesting aliens, and a pinch of real life. With each installment of the Beowulf Chronicles the story gets better and ever more intriguing. I could not stop reading. I highly recommend picking this book up whether you want to take a good read on vacation, need something to pass the time on the plane, or if you just want to spend a few afternoons or a weekend and be transported to another place.
