CRKT Chogan Woods T-Hawk
In Depth Look
Build a Nice Log Cabin Fire. Heck, Build a Nice Log Cabin Home.
This two-handed camp axe with a hickory handle, hot forged blade, and hammerhead will make your life easier when you’re off the grid.
Ryan Johnson of RMJ Tactical in Chattanooga, TN designed The Woods Chogan T-Hawk. A specialist in applying modern engineering to centuries old tool and weapon concepts, he is upping the ante once again with a new outdoor line of tomahawks that swing as big as the open wilderness where they’re found.
The design for this T-Hawk evolved from the popular and original tactical tomahawk series. But it’s built for battle with a few old Doug Firs. The Woods Chogan is made from a solid chunk of 1055 carbon steel that is hot forged into a rock-solid head that features a hammer finish. With primary and secondary edge bevels that are flat ground, it cuts through timber like a beaver. A hammerhead is useful for pounding in nails and stakes for the tent you’ll put by your roaring fire.
The thick wood handle is made in the USA from Tennessee hickory. It's comfortable in hand and sealed with a lacquer coat that adds durability whenever you're in the backcountry—in other words, all the time.
Grab hold of the Woods Chogan T-Hawk and split some wood—like a cord’s worth.
NOTE: Leather sheath is available as an after-market add-on. It is not included. But don’t worry. You won’t want to keep this baby wrapped up.

I keep mine in the door of my truck because nothing says sad with your driving choices like being chased with a tomahawk
My only disappointment is that the Hawk is not 100% fitted and upon opening the packaging you can see that you could slide it up and down. Understandably so, seeing as how these Hawks use tapered wood to house the Hawk blade. Nice touch by Crkt for leaving pictures and labeled stickers to show you that they did indeed do this on purpose.
Good solid choice & With some personal touches, this Hawk is definitely a nice piece for your records truck carry, camping or misc land clearing needs.
It arrived with a small deep divot on the side/ middle area so I do not think its a big deal.
The handle is my biggest complaint, There is a chip in it at the point where you would place your 2nd hand if you wanted to 2 hand it. Sanding it out would drastically reduce the already thin handle. So I made another one which it as thick as the head would allow all the way up to the point of taper..
Should of taking pictures to add. This one was defiantly built on Friday and now will not look into a CRKT camp ax because of it.
Buyer beware of the quality ;-)
Chops very well after you put a edge on it!
