This story kept me captivated and the pages turning as this mystery unfolds with the death of Floriano Garcia and whether his death was suicide or murder. When the star principle male ballet dancer, Floriano, is found dead in his apartment, the police rule it suicide but his mother does not believe it. Hiring PI Maile Kuhiwinui of Miss Demeanor Agency to research the case brings many people into question, several from the Ballet Company, but also Kalama Haleamau, aka Lama, who cooks genuine Hawaiian cuisine, and a new friend of Maile. Verses from the Bible are clues in solving this case. With this case pending, can Maile and Lama have a relationship, or will new evidence hamper them? This story has a great cast of characters and the mystery is slowly revealed leaving the reader to question who and why. This is a wonderful addition to this Miss Demeanor PI series. I liked that Maile is not overconfident and is willing to as her partners for their opinions and assistance. No wonder they make a great team, as well as friends.

Jackie Marilla's new short story Choreographed Crime, had me guessing wrong. I thought I knew who the murderer was and then Miss Marilla pulled the rug out from under me. I was way off.
The author tells a great story and I really felt for Maili when she moved from nice warm Hawaii to gray, cold Seattle. Also, finding her footing in her new position as a PI - I had sympathy for her and celebrated when she found her confidence. I've enjoyed all three of the Miss Demeanor Private Detective series and highly recommend Miss Marilla's story. I hope they plan to do more with this series.

Well written romantic mystery with the rich characters and Hawaiian details Jackie Marilla is now famous for! A Hawaiian food truck in Seattle run by foxy Kalama Haleamau? What a treat! I love the way Jackie is able to weave the authentic details into the story without it feeling tedious. Give yourself an 1.5 hour vacation for only $1.99! So fun!

I was glad to find the time to read this next one in this series that is breeze to read thru. This one is also more focused filled with a touch more suspense type thriller. Maile like the other women was on of the ones that chatted in the group on line and met with them to then settle in Seattle to start their own business. It seems though that while the other three are on cases she is not quite there yet but when she does she gets a whooper. Also being alittle homesick she is in search of food from her home here that really is the taste of home and finds it. Kalama is as intrigued by her as she is of him. Her case though will touch of possible murder with him being one of the suspects later. She reels us readers in and takes us on a nice little adventure that could turn deadly if not careful which is the kind of reading I so enjoy. It having that touch of romance in there makes for a bonus all the way around. This is also one I am glad I got to read that makes this a fuller series for me.

Maile, new to Seattle, misses Hawaii, surfing, and the food from her native land. When she investigates a murder, she enters even more strange new worlds- that of ballet, jealousy, and, unexpectedly, love. I enjoyed the twists and turns of this suspenseful plot. I also enjoyed that feeling of strangeness that comes from moving to a new place, and finding a new job that is not what it seems. Full of suspense and new beginnings, I read this is one quick sit!
