Chosen: A Paranormal, Sci-Fi, Dystopian Novel (Volume 1) Paperback – June 21, 2016
"I loved the rich setting of this novel. Everything was very industrial and sterile, much how I would imagine the world to be in one-hundred-fifty years. The world building was superb and had me lost in the pages." - A Well Read Woman Blog
"I love weird aliens, so even though they didn't appear for verylong, the nebulous alien beings monitoring humankind's treatment of theplanet and trying to decide whether to intervene was one of my favoriteparts of Chosen." - Starships and Dragonwings Blog

If you're searching for something new to read, I would definitely give Chosen a try.
I loved the rich setting of this novel. Everything was very industrial and sterile, much how I would imagine the world to be in one-hundred-fifty years. The world building was superb and had me lost in the pages.
I was surprised by the young-adult turn this novel took. The story started with earth council members overseeing the earth and then Zura gave birth to her twins who were part of “the chosen”… Next thing I know, the twins are sixteen-years-old and it becomes their story. I was pleasantly surprised with the plot twist.
My favorite character was Stella. She was always curious and seeking the truth, even though by doing so she could have been punished for being considered disloyal – or her parents could have been punished. But, she did these risky things for the greater good.
The ending really surprised me and was truly dystopian. I would recommend this read to fans of apocalyptic-type science fiction with young adult heroes!
Many books, movies and TV shows, as well as internet independent news and real people talk about this, big corporations, corrupt greedy politicians, psychopathic, greedy rich scum (aka 1%) have taken over legitimate governments and people have no rights, that's us, right now, this book looks towards the future when it's worse, Solulent Green worse, not that there's any human made food yet, or that they know of, forced one world order, corporate control of all commodities.... this authors version is unique in that some of the freedom fighters, called homeless but corrupt corporations, have been aided secretly by advanced aliens who are trying to integrate special "gifts" to a handful of children to help save the earth, the aliens are trying to save themselves too, it's such a book of depth that there is a lot of information in just this book, I'm waiting, not so patiently, for the next book, I really enjoy the detail and accuracy of the state of our planet now, it's reflected here, most people are waking up, people are rising around the world, protests against corporations destroying our planet, against human rights violators and against corruption are building. Everything you think you know is a lie, our revolution is just getting started, we must prevent an outcome like this book from occuring. Excellent book, read it now!
To control air pollution without curtailing production, mankind started pumping gaseous pollutants deep into the ground some years ago. Not surprisingly, this caused increased seismic activity and created new faults.
A group of researchers in Antarctica noticed this, but the world's rulers refused to change anything and forbad them from publicizing their findings. Naturally things go down hill from there.
I found this book to be unoriginal and unduly slow-paced. The author plods through the first half plus to no apparent end--nothing important is shared, the story just drags.
The book just ends.
By the way, the "chosen" is a group of 8 children who each have special abilities which are expected to allow them to save our planet. Unfortunately, that part gets lost.
I cannot recommend this book.
