Here’s my Fav line:
“Look: the only thing more awkward than falling in love with someone who kind of pushes the boundaries of everything you always thought you believed about the world and how it should operate is falling in love with that guy while your dead husband is living in your head.”
Add to the above a satisfying HEA as well.
Warnings: You won’t be able to put the book down, and best not to read while drinking fluids for spewing is all too likely.
I was gifted this book without request for a review but I just had to sing my praises.
The first half or so is great. It starts right out with a bang in the preview and charges forward. Then it just about dies into attempts at witty sarcasm among the characters with little plot progress. And when progress does come, it is in sort of jumps without warning, or off-stage so to speak, as a character will walk in and describe what has already happened. In particular half the action at the end is hidden from the reader and never explained, despite its impossibility being claimed by the bad guy. The concept is a unique spin on both star travel and mind melding, and the end is appropriate (somewhat foretold, which is OK) and uplifting, making for a nice feeling, so I would have given 4 stars in spite of the dull second half if not for the lack of warning about its position in the series. I also think the witty character interaction would have been more entertaining had I got to know these characters in previous books.
Nice concept for a premise and it had me interested in checking out the Resurrected series.
