Chosen Wolf is the continuing story of Toby and Victoria. In this book, they are trying to find out why Victoria can't shift into her wolf form at the full moon. Victoria is still in school, and although she and Toby are engaged, she is living apart from him and the pack. They also can't let anyone at the college know of their relationship because it will jeopardise his job as a professor. With final exams coming up, they are spending very little time together. In addition, every time Victoria doesn't shift, the pain gets worse, to the point where it is becoming life threatening. Despite the multiple obstructions being thrown in their way, they have to solve the mystery of Victoria's inability to shift, before she is once again dead.

This book was enthralling from beginning to end. It was almost impossible to put down. Despite the increasing number of characters, each one played an important role in the story. When the curse Victoria is under was finally revealed, it was a totally unexpected.

In all, this is a well written story with no glaring mistakes. I really liked the book, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who likes shapeshifer books, especially those that incorporate a romantic element. Please note that this is not a standalone novel. You need to read the first book in order to understand what is happening in this book.

This book was so good...It was thrilling and the best part is that there's another one to come!! I cannot wait to continue reading!!! Highly recommended :). I love the mix of creatures, it's so interesting and a fantastic spin-off of the transformed series. 😁. Absolutely loved it.

I Received this book for free in return for an honest review. I started reading Stacy Claflin with her Deception series. I received the first book free and over it so much I bought the entire series. Reading the Chosen Wolf is like visiting old friends. I hope many other characters from the Deception series will branch off into their own stories.

Toby and Victoria have had a Romeo and Juliet type of love. They are soul mates whose families are trying to keep apart, but not even death can keep them apart forever. However the curse on Victoria may succeed in tearing the lovers apart. Each month Victoria can't change weakens her. Supernatural friends from many races join together to help. Will they find out who put the curse on her and get it removed in time or will death claim Victoria again? Will we ever find out who or what opened the door for all the dead to return?

'Chosen Wolf' begins where 'Lost Wolf' Book 1 ends and it is the continuing story of Toby and Victoria, whom we were introduced to in 'The Transformed Series'. If you haven't read that series yet then I would recommend you do that before you start on the 'Lost Wolf' series, although it isn't absolutely necessary to read them before the 'Lost Wolf Series but if you want to know the complete story of Toby and Victoria then it would give you a better understanding of their back story. Once again Ms Claflin has managed to make this book just as, if not more exciting, twists and turns and suspense than the first book did. . I was really happy when I found out that Toby and Victoria were going to have their own book because I grew quite fond of Toby during the previous books. Toby and Victoria are Soul mates but Victoria recently lost her memory, although she was able to get most of it back she still has memory lapses and can not remember why she is not able to shift because of a curse that was placed on her. Both Toby and Victoria's father is against them being together and they will try everything to keep them apart. Find out what happen's when Victoria suddenly goes missing, along with a few members of the pack and Soleil the Valkryie is also missing, not returning from her trip to find a curse for Victoria. When Toby goes looking for his love and the others he finds a dead body on the Moonhaven property which clue's him in that this place is a link to Victoria's curse. A must read for anybody whom loves to read paranormal/fantasy. I could not put this book down and I read it in one night. I was hooked from page one . Ms Claflin sure knows how to capture an audience. I can not wait to read the rest of this series. I voluntarily read this book for an honest review.Read more ›

I like this series a lot, but I just wish the main characters had a stronger relationship. I understand that they've loved each other for centuries and are old fashioned, but their relationship almost seems superficial to me. I do however, enjoy the book and will read the next one.

This book started off right where the first book in the series ended, so it was easy to get into. That being said, if you haven't read the first book a lot of the returning characters don't really hold the same depth (I gave this a quick additional read, pretending I'd never read the first book and know the particulars of that story) and some of the through-lines can seem unnecessary.

The story delivered, though, and it was an easy and enjoyable read. The author does a great job of making sure that (even though this book is part of an ongoing series) enough distinct plot threads get wrapped up and questions get answered. Of course, there are open questions (to be answered in later books) but enough questions are answered that I didn't feel like I was reading an intro to another book. Aside from what I noted above (You really have to read the first book for this book to make sense) the story opened up with a clear issue that needed resolution (Toby and Victoria's coming together and Victoria's problems being a shape-shifter who can't shift) and brought those two part to a satisfying conclusion, although those parts' conclusions raised some more questions (A good thing for a series).

If I were to complain about this book in any way, I would probably say its weakest point is the number of characters to keep track of. Some parts also feel rushed, but not so often that the overall read is affected.

Bottom line: I enjoyed this book and am curious to see what happens next. Great job by the author!
