About Chris Manno
I don't want you to read my books--I want you to live the stories. When I write habitable prose, stories you can live yourself rather than just read, the end game is that you, the reader, own the story. It's yours--you lived, breathed, hoped, sweated, struggled, fought it, believed in it--thus you own it.
That's the writing I teach--habitable, liveable prose--at my university. That's what I think is most worth reading.
I've had some success with that:
_East Jesus_ named finalist (second place), "Best Fiction of 2017," N. Texas Book Festival, April 2017!
_Blood and Remembrance_ named finalist (third place) "Best Fiction 2019," N. Texas Book Festival, 2019.
_Voodoo Rush_ named winner "Best Fiction of 2018," N. Texas Book Festival, April 2018!
