A comprehensive book to get one started on developing a plan for providing natural burial services in their community. The first chapters ignited in me a deep desire to have available to my family and to those in my parish community the option for a natural and simple process bathed in prayer when one passes. There is enough information in this little book to get one started in developing a plan to either fully or partially leave out the funeral home industry when a loved one passes. I hope that this becomes a growing movement within the Church.

I used this book to prepare for my mother's repose. I had help from volunteers at church and we have now formed a permanent team and offer our services not only to our parishioners but to anyone wishing to utilize our services and have another option beside the same services provided by commercial businesses. This book is an excellent starting point for those seeking to do the same or simply better understand ancient Christian burial traditions.

I loved this book, I do not know if I can find an Orthodox Church to bury me in Hartford Al. but I would love to give this experience to my children. I attended an Orthodox funeral in 2005 and I loved the prayers and the peace it involved for the deceased.

This book is an excellent resource for those who are interested in the ancient christian tradition of burial, or perhaps those who want a 'more green' burial.
