If you're looking for the standard formulaic romance, you won't find it in this story, especially since Candy doesn't thaw out until the story is almost over. But if you're open to characters who aren't breathtakingly beautiful, to meeting Candy's son and her mother, both of whom are great characters and to a hero who refuses to give up on his chance with the woman he cares about, you'll like this book. In addition, the events taking place in this story help to pull you in and keep you reading.
I listened to the audio version of this book. While some of the voices could have been better, I rate the overall experience at about 3 stars.
It just didn't work for me, even tho the story wasn’t bad at all, but I couldn’t get over her character to appreciate it.
Candy isn’t interested in a relationship so she pushes Gary every time he tries to get her to give him a chance. Not fond of Candy as she is quite abrasive to Gary. I really don’t understand why Gary is persistent in trying to get a date with Candy. He is a great character.
I felt the ending was abrupt.
