Another winning story from Valentine. The characters are so true to life, you think of them as your neighbors or your own family. I wasn't sure which way the story was going to end. Ms. Matlock kept me guessing till the very end.

My Favorite Little Town

Such a lovely book. I read it before when published as "Recipes for Easy Living" but was so happy to revisit Valentine and be reminded of all my favorite characters in this new edition. I've always found Curtiss Ann Matlock's characters to be wonderfully developed and so relatable. In this book, especially, I could identify with Corrine's feelings of insecurity and her questions about her future. The things she deals with are so similar to those I dealt with myself as a pre-teen. Though I knew already how the story ended, I still found myself aching for Corrine and the rest of her family as the novel progressed. If you've never been to Valentine, I hope you'll take the opportunity to visit within the pages of this book. I think you'll find, like I did, that it's a place you'll love and never want to leave.

I love immersing myself in the lives of the folks in Valentine, and this was another wonderful experience spending Christmas with Corrine, Marilee, Tate! Wiley Lee and the cast of crazy characters as they learn how everyone needs some Santa magic in their lives.
