This story takes us on a journey of self discovery and realization that it's time to admit to yourself as well as other about feelings you have been harboring before you loose one of the most important people in your life. I hope we get to revisit this quaint little town of Kentbury Vermont because we meet a few people that really need to find their HEA's.
If friends-to-lovers is your thing, or if your in the mood for a holiday romance, I recommend Christmas in Kentbury by one of my favorite authors Claudia Burgoa. I have a feeling once you meet Lee, Heath, and Cassie they'll have you falling in love with this picturesque town and the people in it as much as I did. Happy Reading!!!
Knightly has been in love with her best friend Heath since she was a little girl. Heath is also Knightly's older brothers best friend too. When Knightly was 17/18 years old and Heath finds out he was a father, she was there to help him and support him in raising his daughter Cassie. Cassie grew up really having Knightly as a mother figure and Heath is glad to have Knightly as his best friend even though he has had romantic feelings for Knightly for quite some time now. However, Heath feels that he is not good enough for Knightly and he thinks that he is not good at relationships.
Knightly for her part feels that she needs to move on so that she can find love with someone else since she thinks that Heath will never think of her as more than a friend. Obviously both of them are afraid to let the other know their true feelings for fear of losing their friendship. When Heath finds out that Knightly is considering taking a job outside of Kentbury, he realizes that he can't lose her and has to show her his true feelings and to make sure that he has had feelings for her for a long time and it is not due to her possibly leaving him and Cassie.
When Knightly gives Heath a chance, they both finally admit their true feelings for each other and can't believed that they have wasted so much time because of their fear of losing their friendship!
Knightly (Lee) has been in love with her and her two brothers best friend Heath for as long as she can remember. Lee believed in her heart of hearts that Heath has always been the man for her, it didn't matter that he found himself being a single dad. Running her B & B wasn't cutting it anymore, the longing for a family of her own has her deciding if she would be able to leave her family, Heath, his daughter Cassie and, her business behind so she could protect her heart. Lee loves Heath and Cassie as if they were both hers, that's what hurts the most ... they are not.
Heath is a single dad, a mechanic who was told by two people that should have mattered that he was not good enough. His daughter and best friend never made him feel like he didn't matter in fact they were the two most important girls in his life. He would fight all his feelings for the one woman that has always been by his side just so he would never lose her. Heath never thought that holding back from his best friend could be the reason she would want to get away. Now he will do whatever he has to do to make her his forever.
Christmas in Kentbury has that picturesque Hallmark town setting, loving family, townspeople and friends. I fell in love with Knightly, Heath and his adorable 8-year-old daughter Cassie. Claudia Burgoa left me with other characters that I want to read more from. This story is much too short, but I loved every minute of it.
Knightly has loved Heath since they were kids, but to him she’s always been one of the guys, his friend. The harder she tries to keep their relationship in the ‘friends’ zone, the more she realizes that she needs something more. But she’s not willing to start that awkward conversation, and risk their friendship. Can a little holiday magic help them admit their true feelings and bring them together before life keeps them apart?
I have to admit, I’m a softy for a Christmas romance, and Christmas in Kentbury by Claudia Burgoa fit the bill perfectly. It’s a sweet and poignant friends-to-lovers story with engaging characters, and a spirited eight year-old that will steal your heart. Grab some hot cocoa, and curl up with a warm holiday read.
