Melisa has never forgotten Rob, if she’s forgiven him is also if-y, but the fight was between Rob and Connor and she was certain there were details she didn’t know. All these years later Rob is still occasionally on her mind – that what if syndrome we all fall into. When luck, good or bad depending on your opinion, finally stepped in Melisa found herself on the classroom floor trying to rescue her lovebird Cassie from a light fixture – with two broken fingers and a possible concussion there was only one place she was heading, the Emergency Room. It so happened to be Rob’s night shift in the ER, and the very last person he expected to find in an exam room was his childhood love, the woman who he’d never stand a chance with. Old feelings for them both that they’d never really gotten over come rushing to the surface once again. But timing is everything, and this timing was the worst.
A few days later with Melisa still injured, her pet lovebird is left in the care of a friend who is volunteering at a fund raiser allowing pictures of Cassie to be taken with children for the event. When Cassie is mistakenly put in the same cage as Rob’s lovebird Casey, and transported to his Christmas vacation spot… well, to say some people were upset would be an understatement. Melisa gets it into her head to drive to Rob’s location, in spite of her injuries, to rescue her pet. The results will be truths finally told, disbelief, and even more. Somehow out of this complicated mess two people’s love and future hang in the balance. It’s up to them to find the truth and accept it.
I came across Christmas Lovebirds accidentally when looking for something light to read. Since I always, when given the chance, will go back from the book that caught my eye to the first in the series, I ended up with Rob and Melisa’s story to begin this series. I enjoyed my time spent with these characters, and I’m very glad I followed my ‘start at the beginning’ rule, for there are many members of this large, extended, boisterous family to keep track of.
If you are looking for a lovely story that is romantic yet clean and sweet then Christmas Lovebirds will fit you perfectly, no matter what the time of year. Rob and Melisa have some explaining to do, some accepting to deal with and some making their own decisions within a sea of cross purposes within the family. The truth is always the best solution, but everyone needs to come clean to make it all work again.
I purchased this title for the Kindle
What I like in this story is that Rachelle Ayala has taken love and mixed it with both animals and Christmas and she does it in a really good way. The title is also very great and has dubble meaning because the animal in this book is a bird. I do not like birds, I am afriad of birds but I do understand how people can love them and keep them as pets. So for that aspect it wasnt hard to picture the story but I did have trouble due to me being afraid of birds.
Even so, the book is not just about birds, it is also about love and Christmas and how hard and easy things can be at the same time. I really enjoyed the story and reading how a bird, and in this case, a bird on the run, can get two people together and realize they are meant to be together.
Rachelle Ayala show her brilliance when it comes to wrighting and this is a perfect sweet story you cant help but to love. A very well balanced and well written story that I will enjoy reading over and over again.
Ms Ayala had written another book that I was unable to put down until I had finished.
I was given this book as a birthday present with no requirement to review.
